The song was released in conjunction with Grande’s Total Ariana Live MTV special, which had her performing her hit singles, and teasing her upcoming album My Everything. “Break Free” is the latest cut off of the singer’s sophomore album.

The catchy track has Grande singing, “This is the part when I say I don’t want it / I’m stronger than I’ve been before / This is the part when I break free / Cause I can’t resist it no more.”

“Break Free” follows the huge success that Grande has seen in recent months. Her collaboration with Iggy Azalea, “Problem,” hit No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and introduced fans to My Everything

With the release of her debut studio album, Yours Truly, Grande gained her footing in the music business, translating her relative fame from her roles on Victorious and Sam & Cat. She previously teamed up with rapper Mac Miller for the hit song “The Way” and gained traction with her single “Baby I.”
