Teen Angel is down on bended knee! In a surprise casting choice, R&B trio Boyz II Men will embody the guardian angel in Fox's upcoming Grease: Live, the network announced Wednesday, January 6.
Comprised of Nathan Morris, Wanya Morris and Shawn Stockman, the Grammy-winning group will perform the tune "Beauty School Dropout," as Teen Angel expands to three angelic advisers. Frankie Avalon played the role in the hit 1978 film.
Boyz II Men have sold 60 million albums, and their 1990s heyday brought such popular singles as "End of the Road," "I'll Make Love to You" and "On Bended Knee." The group was a quartet until Michael McCary left in 2003.
The live TV production already boasts a previously announced cast that includes Julianne Hough as Sandy, Aaron Tveit as Danny, Vanessa Hudgens as Rizzo, Keke Palmer as Marty and Carly Rae Jepsen as Frenchy.
Grease: Live airs on Fox Sunday, January 31, at 7 p.m. EST.
