Party in the USA!

After some speculation earlier this week, Prince William and new wife Kate will indeed visit the West Coast -- California! -- this summer, Clarence House confirmed Thursday morning in a statement.

"The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will visit California, United States of America, following their Tour of Canada in July this year," the Palace says. As previously announced, William, 28, and Kate, 29, will kick off their first overseas trip with an extensive tour of Canada. Their California jaunt will be from July 8 to 10, with a detailed itinerary provided at a later date.

The Palace notes that, although William has visited the U.S. privately, it's his first "official" visit. As for the Duchess, the U.S. trip will be a whole new world, indeed: "The Duchess of Cambridge has never before visited the United States of America officially or privately."

Earlier this week, royal watcher Andrew Morton speculated that the royal couple could hang out with the likes of fellow Brits-turned-L.A.-transplants David and Victoria Beckham, who attended their Friday wedding.

Tell Us: What should the royal couple do -- and what stars should they hang out with?! -- during their California sojourn?

Since they seem to be a couple of spoiled rich brats, I suggest Hollywood. There are lots of expensive shops where they can waste money on designer clothes and exclusive clubs for them to party and drink at.

How we can afford to live here (in Beautiful California)? We have good qualifications, work hard and have good jobs. We are not lazy here because we like the good life. On our days off we are at awwwwww at our lives in California, never a dull moment. I would not and could not live anywhere else. Never, ever, ever, ever and ever.

There are some Freaks in Hollywood I will agree but I travel a lot and I've seen my share of Freaks all over and more so in the Southern parts and the Central parts of the USA. In the middle they hide for a reason.

what they need to do is not give interviews not speak out of turn and stick to the script they do not want to fall into the same trap fergie fell into . once you start talking they will hound and they will not stop. no oprah winfrey talk-a-thons. no hobnobbing with the "glitteraty" unless its for charity fundraising. most of all BE CAREFUL of the endless opportunistic socialisers who will love to associate their product or name with a couple who are quite frankly as unshowbusiness like as you are ever going to find in that neck of the woods.. THANK GOD.

I agree: California=awesome place..... to visit. Even though it's beautiful, I couldn't see myself living in a place where I would have to eat ramen noodles every night to afford to buy or rent a house or apt. Unless you're a celebrity, I don't see how most people there afford it!

Jealous much? California has more to offer than an other state in the union. From top to bottom: Giant Redwood Trees (only in California), Our amazing coastline, San Francisco, Lake Tahoe, Sequoia Nat. Park/Kings Canyon, Yosemite, Los Angeles/Hollywood (you will never see every thing, so much to do) beautiful cities, Amazing beaches in both LA, Orange County and San Diego, Disneyland in beautiful Orange County and San Diego. Not to mention all the small places in between these places.

California is one of the Unites States' most beautiful landmarks....we have all four seasons in one state....sunny beaches, rolling hills, snowy mountain sides, green valleys, deserts, and everything in between. The weather is rather moderate year-round and the ideology is centric, for the most part. Its a wonderful state.
