Murphy announced on Twitter that Britton, 48, will play Nicole Brown Simpson’s friend Faye Resnick in American Crime Story, Murphy's latest FX anthology series. The first season of ACS is subtitled The People v. O.J. Simpson, and will follow the 1995 criminal trial that ultimately saw the football star acquitted of his wife’s murder.

The mom of son Yoby, 4, hinted to Us Weekly last week that she and Murphy have been trying to collaborate once more — as long as their schedules permitted.

"We’ve been talking about trying to work together again," she teased to Us at the Women of American Horror Story Panel in Hollywood on March 17. "Hopefully we’re going to find something, whether it’s [American Horror Story] Hotel or it’s something else."

But the role Britton envisioned herself in is not the one she ultimately got. She would've wanted to play Nicole Brown Simpson, but realized that it would've been difficult to play a character who is not actually alive. "She’s dead, right? I can’t play her, right?"

Although never a full RHOBH cast member, Resnick made some memorable appearances on the Bravo show as a friend of Kyle Richards — including the iconic "Dinner Party From Hell," where she memorably sparred with psychic Allison DuBois.

American Crime Story is set to star Cuba Gooding Jr. as O.J. Simpson, Sarah Paulson as prosecutor Marcia Clark, David Schwimmer as Simpson's attorney Robert Kardashian Sr., and John Travolta as Simpson's attorney Robert Shapiro.

American Crime Story is slated to debut in fall 2015.
