Sorry, folks -- Winnie Cooper and DJ Tanner are friends! Dancing With the Stars has been pitting Danica McKellar and Candace Cameron Bure against each other as supposed rivals, but McKellar admits there's no bad blood between the child stars.
"They're looking for a rivalry but the truth is we're actually on great terms," the 39-year-old told Us Weekly after the show's Monday night episode. "We want to see each other do well! We're rooting for each other, we really are!"
The Wonder Years alum and Bure, 37, have been vocal about a friendly competition during their pre-taped dance rehearsals, but they've also shared something else besides the dance floor. As exclusively reported on March 14, McKellar and the Full House star both dated Growing Pains actor Jeremy Miller back in the day, and joked about it early on in the season.
"Candace had a run-in with Danica and told her she was the reason she split with her old boyfriend," a source told Us. "She used to date Jeremy Miller from Growing Pains years ago, but he broke up with her to date Danica."
The ladies have laughed it off since, but audiences got an extra (yet awkward) treat March 24 when Miller, 37, showed up to the live taping. The star, who worked with Bure's real-life older brother Kirk Cameron on Growing Pains, told co-host Erin Andrews that he's cheering on both exes as to not ruffle any feathers. "Off camera he did a shy wave to Cameron who smiled and waved back," an eyewitness told Us. "None of them seemed to have been in touch for years."
The stunning actresses may get along now, but McKellar does admit that she once was envious of Bure's Full House wardrobe. "It's so funny because I was jealous -- she used to have all the cool trendy outfits. In the 80s and 90s -- and banana clips in her hair," she told Us. "I was stuck in stupid flowered pants! I looked so lame and she looked so cool!"
McKellar and Bure have survived the first week's elimination, but McKellar admits she's not much of an athlete off stage. "I never really ran or exercised regularly except yoga," she told Us. "So I've been taking ice baths every single night! Hot shower, ice bath. Hot shower, ice bath. I go back and forth between the two and it makes all the difference in the world. It's unpleasant but it's worth it."
"I eat really, really clean," she added of her diet. "The only thing I drink is water. I don't eat gluten, I don't eat dairy, no sugar really - I eat a lot of food but it's brown rice, vegetables, things like that. I'm very strict with it!"
Dancing With the Stars Season 18 airs at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
