Well, that's one way to face the music. Dean McDermott is no Taylor Swift—but that didn't stop him from writing a song about his feelings and serenading wife Tori Spelling on the True Tori reunion on Tuesday, June 3.
Following the couple's emotional and very revealing chat with interviewer Brooke Anderson, the Chopped Canada host surprised Spelling with an intimate, outdoor performance of the tune he wrote for her about their marriage and his recent cheating scandal. Accompanied by a friend on guitar, he told her (in song) how sorry he was for his infidelity.
"Broken trust for a dance with lust / Heartache and sorrow's the proof," he crooned. "I'm sorry forever / It's never enough / The pain I would take sets you free / You're the one thing for certain that I've ever loved / And the one thing I can't go without."
(Incidentally, Spelling has been serenaded before—on Beverly Hills, 90210. Her character's abusive ex-boyfriend, singer-songwriter Ray Pruit, played by Jamie Walters, wooed her with music in season five.)
As Us Weekly exclusively revealed in December, McDermott cheated on his wife of eight years with 28-year-old Emily Goodhand. In the aftermath of his fling, Spelling made the decision to air their marriage problems on a new Lifetime reality series, True Tori, which aired its finale on May 27.
In the reunion special on June 3, Spelling said she hoped her kids would someday see the show and understand what their family went through. "I want to be able to be honest with them, and I hope to show them and talk about this, and say we made it through," she explained. "I hope to be able to tell them about a happy ending."
