Sad to say goodbye. Elizabeth Berkley and her pro partner, Val Chmerkovskiy, were just as stunned as the audience when they were eliminated on week nine of Dancing With the Stars Monday, Nov. 11. After the show, the 41-year-old actress got emotional while sharing her disappointment with reporters about being sent home.

"[I'm] sad! I'm not going to lie," she confessed to Us Weekly.

"It's like that saying — don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened," the Saved by the Bell alum added. "I'm going to live with that. I felt a little sucker-punch[ed] because I was excited about next week, and I just feel like we got cut short a little bit . . . Not that I felt entitled by any means, but I just felt excited and grateful."

Berkley started crying while telling Us what she will take away from the experience of competing on the ABC reality dance show. The Showgirls alum had consistently scored well with judges, and even earned a perfect score of 30 Monday night.

"This friendship and the gift of . . . I'm sorry," she said, apologizing for crying. "The gift of the love affair I have with dance has returned. This isn't sad, it's just a very deep thing [Chmerkovskiy] helped me reconnect to and I'm forever grateful. It's like a full circle love affair." One benefit of ending her DWTS run earlier than expected? Spending more time with her family. She and husband Greg Lauren, who wed in 2003, welcomed their first child, son Sky, in July 2012.

"That's amazing," she said of family time. "Every second is precious."

And the actress promises she has a lot of exciting work ahead of her, althought she couldn't yet reveal more details on her next project. "I'll share it with you when it's all official and signed. I never talk about things until they're signed — I'm not a talker, I'm a doer, but you'll see soon," she explained to reporters. "A lot of new things. This guy [Chmerkovskiy] has inspired me in many ways."
