Mariah Carey’s Isolated “All I Want For Christmas Is You” Vocals Leaked From Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting: Listen

For Christmas, Mariah Carey should get some vocal rest. The Elusive Chanteuse performed her beloved holiday classic “All I Want For Christmas Is You” at the Wednesday, Dec. 3 Tree Lighting Ceremony in NYC’s Rockefeller Center, and The Concourse‘s newly released isolated vocal track shows just how much the pop diva struggled to hit her famed high notes.

Mimi had already upset some of her die-hard fans when she failed to show up to pre-tape her performance (which she is known for doing) on Tuesday, Dec. 2. TMZ reported that the Grammy winner left her crew out in the cold rain for three hours while reportedly handling a phone call about her estranged husband Nick Cannon.

She later apologized for the inconvenience on Twitter, writing, “Last night’s situation was beyond my control. I apologize to all that showed up, you know that I would never want to disappoint you.”

She went on to open the show live with a group of dancing kids behind her, a band, and presumably an accompanying track. The isolated audio shows that Carey mainly had problems hitting the notes in her whistle register. See more photos of Carey’s live performance.

This isn’t the first time her vocals have been called into question. Back in October, the songstress was bashed by fans after video of her Elusive Chanteuse Show tour in Japan leaked.
