Thanks, but no thanks?

Lindsay Lohan pulled herself out of Inferno, the biopic about troubled porn star Linda Lovelace — not the other way around.

That's the claim of Lindsay's mom, Dina Lohan.

"She turned Inferno down," Dina, 48, told Radaronline.

Back in November, the film's director Matthew Wilder said, "We are withdrawing our offer from Lindsay Lohan," explaining that it was impossible to insure the star, 24, who's still staying at the Betty Ford Center per court order. Actress Malin Ackerman was subsequently named as Lohan's replacement.

Dina insists that's not the real story. Her famous daughter walked away from the edgy project because "The movie is about a drug addict and a porn star… it is hard when you are a serious actor with what she has been through, we don't need that."

Lohan is slated to remain at Betty Ford until Jan. 3.

"It was hard for her to turn it down, because it was an amazing role," Dina added. "She made the ultimate decision, she always does."

And despite the "uninsurable" claims, Dina says her daughter has "had a lot of offers" for film work once she's out of rehab.
