Nicolas Cage was arrested for one count of domestic abuse, one count of public drunkenness and one count of disturbing the peace on Saturday in New Orleans.
The National Treasure star -- who wed cocktail waitress Alice Kim in 2004 -- was "very drunk" when a local cab driver witnessed them arguing in the street.
"He and his wife were standing in front of a residence that he insisted was the property the couple was renting. She disagreed, and Cage grabbed her by the upper arm and pulled her to what he believed was the correct address. There were no visible signs of injury on his wife's arm," the New Orleans Police Department told Us Weekly in a statement.
"The actor then began striking vehicles and later attempted to get into a taxi," the NOPD added. "At that point, an officer who had been flagged down by onlookers drove up on the couple, immediately observed that Cage was heavily intoxicated, and ordered him out of the cab, which prompted Cage to start yelling. The officers subsequently took Cage to Central Lock-Up."
TMZ adds that Kim is not a complaining witness and does not want her husband charged; she confirms that there was no physical contact.
This isn't the only time Cage has faced legal troubles: In 2009, the IRS alleged that the actor failed to pay over $6.2 million in federal income tax for the year 2007. That same year, Cage -- who welcomed son Kal-El in October 2005 with Kim -- sued his former money manager for $20 million, saying he was led "down a path of financial ruin," according to court documents.
