Video: Paula Abdul Mocks Ellen DeGeneres on Diva Live
Paula Abdul mocked her American Idol replacement, Ellen DeGeneres, while hosting the VH1 Divas Live concert Thursday night.
Dressed in a blonde wig and the talk show host's trademark suit, Abdul, 47, joked: "Why are you all staring at me? Can't a girl try out for a new job?"
She then took a seat in a chair similar to the one DeGeneres conducts interviews from on her show.
"All kidding aside, [I have] nothing but love for Ellen, and I wish you the best of luck and congratulations on your new gig," added Abdul, who hosted the show from the Brooklyn Academy of Music in NYC.
Abdul said DeGeneres could reach out to her if she ever needed advice.
"And call me! You gotta call me if you have any Simon problems, 'cause you know, I know him best," she said.
That wasn't the only American Idol reference on the show.
Abdul's first line after taking the stage? A spin-off of Idol host Ryan Seacrest's traditional show opener. "I'm Paula Abdul, and this is not American Idol!" she said.
Former Idols Jennifer Hudson, Jordin Sparks and Kelly Clarkson also performed.
Abdul also sang a medley of her hits, including "Straight Up," "Forever Your Girl" and "Opposites Attract" -- during which a photo of Simon Cowell was flashed on a giant screen behind her.

31I love how the title uses"mocking" to spin some altercation and garner more attention. Regardless, the "mocking" is spot on. Hilarious. Both women are power-houses who have great personalities.

Paula has overcome enormous personal battles with her health and has never shown how much pain she endures while in the public eye. I admire your strength, your sense of humour, and your ability to disregard the media frenzy that a lot of us feel are the "crazy ones!" Anything to 'sell' to the public. Congratulations Paula!

Ellen probaly enjoyed that cause she is a comic and she make fun off people too. Ellen is very down to earth and easy going. I am sure she loved it!! You go Ellen!

I know Ellen liked that! Ellen is not petty to think she was mocking, Ellen knows she taught the white girls to dance! I love Ellen for coming out and for Paula to put a act on like Ellen means people notice her and dig her!Paula is beautiful person, that was her way of letting go! Paula can dance too!
