Angelina Jolie makes being bad look good.

Disney gave fans the first official look at the actress' transformation into Sleeping Beauty villain Maleficent Tuesday, and now Jolie has been photographed for the first time in full costume.

Wearing horns and a cloak, the Oscar winner and mother of six, 37, held a walking staff as she shot outdoor scenes for Maleficent in London June 20. Filming began in England's Pinewood Studios one week earlier.

Super 8 and We Bought a Zoo star Elle Fanning, 14, will play Aurora/Sleeping Beauty. Juno Temple, 22, has been cast as Thistlewit, and Sam Riley, 32, will star as Diaval. Other cast members include Brenton Thwaites, India Eisley, Miranda Richardson and Kenneth Cranham.

"It's a really great script, and I'm having a lot of fun. I've already got my horns fitted," Jolie said of her titular role in March. "My kids are very happy."

Unlike the animated 1959 classic Sleeping Beauty (based on the famous fairy tale), Maleficent re-imagines story from the villain's perspective.

"It's not anti-princess, but it's the first time they're looking at this epic woman [in a different way]," Jolie explained. "I hope in the end you see a woman who is capable of being many things, and just because she protects herself and is aggressive, it doesn't mean she can't have other [warmer] qualities. You have to figure out the puzzle of what she is."
