Not a bad post-baby gig!

Simon Cowell wants Beyonce to be a full-time judge on The X-Factor -- and he's offering her an annual salary of $100 million to do it, according to reports online.

It would the highest TV salary ever, and, indeed, an ideal job for Beyonce, 30, who gave birth daughter Blue Ivy, her first child with husband Jay-Z, last month; the X-Factor stint could theoretically allow the Grammy winning singer a way to stay in the public eye during her baby's first years without having to tour worldwide.

Fellow first-time mom Mariah Carey (she gave birth to twins Moroccan and Monroe last April) was originally X-Factor producer Cowell's choice, but things have changed, a source told MediaTakeOut.com, which first reported the rumor.

"He wants a big-name female star on the panel," said. "Mariah [Carey] is good, but she's not that hot today. He wants Beyoncé because that would immediately give him the bounce needed to beat 'American Idol.'"

The "Love on Top" singer appeared in the UK version of the reality singing competition back in 2008. X-Factor's inaugural season fell below expectations ratings-wise, and Cowell axed judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger as well as host Steve Jones earlier this week.

yes MeMe is old tired news-and Beyonce is a big step up-guess you played too hard to get MeMe-but obviously the money is there if someone is really worth it-quite an ego blow that Simon wouldn't give MeMe $300,000 but will pop $100 mil for Beyonce-but then no one thinks MeMe is worth as much as MeMe thinks she is worth-and what kind of advice is MeMe going to give-she slept her way to the top so any "work hard and stick with it" advice from that self centered overated stripper cow is just a big bowl of hypocrisy-besides since MeMe has shown herself to have pedophile tendencies these days I don't think it is wise to have her around all that new young talent. Besides people thought paula was a pill popping mess-barely able to make a sentence-MeMe is a delusional mentally arrested obviously molested 12 year old plus a pill popping freak-she can't even sell her own trash on HSN without a meltdown-if you can't pull off HSN how are you going to do X-factor-I sure Nick's-MeMe's "too good- it's beneath her" comment was the final nail in that coffin-Nick what you make is never going to keep selfish MeMe in her "lifestyle" and the money that Tommy made for her is fading fast-really should have took that cash MeMe cause a pathetic show like X-factor really was your last hope at any kind of "comeback"

It would be hilarious to have Mariah as a judge though! Besides her talent (which she has loads of) she would be calling all the good contestants her lambs and throwing glitter at them. lol I love Mariah. I think Beyonce would be a bit more level-headed as a judge than Mariah. But really $100 million? Not worth it at all. Get Mariah!

I'd rather see male judges, because they seem to give more relevant feedback instead of crying all the time. If it's true Randy will be available, then Simon should snag him.

100 million??? why..give her a million and give the other 99 million to the homeless of America or families that have lost everything and are livng in motels and living like crap...this is pretty gross if you ask me!

I think either Beyonce or Mariah would be great choices. I'm glad both he & Paula still have a good working relationship.

Put a living legend on as a judge- Diana Ross or Aretha Franklin and let them get under each others skin for one season- that'll be worth watching, but for a mother like Beyonce- it's the perfect job for right now.

Beyonce over Mariah.... sorry but I don't think Beyonce is of the same caliber as Mariah... seriously!

I was more than happy with Paula and after her firing, I don't see a reason to watch. The show needed a lot to make it better, but firing her was not part of it. I still do not understand this man's "business" decisions. He had the PERFECT panel in 2011 with Cheryl, then he fired her -- now Paula; it makes zero sense business-wise. Cheryl and Paula are gold. Add in Ryan Seacrest as judge and you got everything you need for a hit. But regardless of his decisions for the next season, I will not be watching. Guess it's back to American Idol for me. I'd rather watch J.Lo anyways!

Beyonce is the perfect judge, cuz she can sing anything! but if she becomes a full time, i wont she her on tour or her new music! its a hard decision, but we let beyonce choose. She has many things up for her this 2012! i am so excited she is back. if she is in X-Factor, i'mma start watching it everytime now!!!

Thank goodness he axed the 3 he did. That guy had to be one of the worst hosts EVER, Nicole was just plain annoying with her phoney tears and Paula seemed almost irrelevant the entire season. How about another industry insider like L.A. rather than another 'star' gunning for the spotlight? People tune in to hear the NEW talent, not to listen to some 'super star' share their opinions on why the newbie will never live up to their standard.

Simon bring back Paula and since Randy will be leaving American Idol I think you should bring him on too....

  • February 03, 2012 - 12:19pm Amie Garrett Grayson

I wouldn't pay her that much... can't they find someone else??? The world is full of singers!

  • February 03, 2012 - 12:07pm Shelli Paulk

Really? Good luck with convincing FOX that she's worth it (she's not). I guess The X-Factor will be the only show on the network if they pay her that much $$ for one season.

  • February 03, 2012 - 11:19am Debby Ladmirault

Beyonce is a great choice but excuse me Mariah is still very much relevant!

  • February 03, 2012 - 11:12am Jadedx Jade

I'm seriously beginning to doubt Simon's judgement these days. Have you ever listened to Beyounce speak? Annoying as in JLO annoying!!! Mariah Carey has the brains Simon! Choose her instead otherwise I will have to turn the channel...

I don't like Beyonce and would rather see whittney houston or mariah.
