Stephen Colbert Receives Star-Studded Serenade on Final Colbert Report: Watch Video!

Stephen Colbert is signing off…for now! The Comedy Central personality received a star-studded farewell during his final episode of The Colbert Report on Thursday, Dec. 18 — and of course, his close pal Jon Stewart was one of his many famous friends to stop by for a special serenade.

In the closing segment, Colbert surprised the audience by singing “We’ll Meet Again.” Stewart and other groups of celebs piled in on stage, each greeted by an eruption of applause.

Those in attendance included Bryan Cranston, Patrick Stewart, Elijah Wood, Katie Couric, George Lucas, Rod Stewart, Jeff Daniels, J.J. Abrams, James Franco, Willie Nelson, Andy Cohen, Big Bird(!), Cookie Monster, and many more.

Colbert will next be taking over David Letterman’s Late Show in 2015. After more than two decades at CBS, Letterman’s final episode will air on May 20.
