New Moon fever hits SNL!

Fresh off New Moon's mega-blockbuster opening weekend,  Taylor Lautner -- sorry, Team Edward! --  will show his comic chops on NBC's Saturday Night Live on Dec. 12. Backstage, Lautner can mingle with musical guests Bon Jovi, returning to perform for the fifth time.

But it's 17 year-old Lautner's very first time hosting SNL in a holiday month with two other big debuts on the sketch show.

Gossip Girl's Blake Lively (whose film The Private Lives of Pippa Lee is out this month) will also make her inaugural bow hosting the show Dec. 5. Joining Lively that night is one of the biggest newsmakers of 2009: musical guest Rihanna, who released her new album Rated R on Tuesday.

On Dec. 19, the show will welcome back James Franco for his second turn at hosting. Franco's most recent first? Giving soap operas a go with an appearance on General Hospital. Musical guest for the evening is British rock trio Muse (a favorite of Twilight saga author Stephenie Meyer.)
