Talk about a hitmaker!

Taylor Swift has earned top honors as the artist with the longest-charting album on Billboard's Top 200 charts, Billboard has announced.

Swift's self-titled debut, released in October 2006, now spends its 157th week on the chart, more weeks than any other album this decade. The 19-year-old takes the honor from band Nickelback.

See what Taylor and the other stars wore to this year's MTV Video Music Awards.

What's more? Since surpassing the 151-week chart life of Shania Twain's Come On Over, Swift's disc also becomes the longest-charting album from a female country artist in the Nielsen SoundScan era.

Check out the day's top celeb news photos.

To promote her current album, Fearless, Swift will host NBC's Saturday Night Live on Nov. 7, also serving as the night's music guest. Later that week, Swift will perform on the CMA Awards, where she is the youngest artist in history to be nominated for the organization's Entertainer of the Year Award.

I have two daughters 5 & 9 and it is refreshing in this day and age for them to have a truly talented person like Taylor Swift for them to look up to.

If you disparage Taylor for her song topics then you are self-centered. "I can only relate to songs about me!" Empathize and appreciate - it's not too late!

To those saying she can't sing: why don't you produce your own album and see if it lasts 157 weeks on the billboard charts? Yeah, that's what I thought. Don't knock it until you try it. She may not be the best singer that ever lived, or the most beautiful girl there is, but she is a wonderful singer who writes all of her own songs from the heart. And she seems like she stays pretty well grounded, too. Jealousy is an ugly cologne!

Of course she writes about teenage angst she is a teenager. Teenagers can relate to the songs she sings. So many girls and women have guy friends that they really like and wonder why they never choose them to date. I have a son, but if I had a teenage daughter I would hope she would listen to Taylor Swift's music rather than Beyonce or Britney!

I have to agree with Myla below. Taylor can't sing. I love her songs but I always thought she sounded horrible when singing on TV. I recently caught her performance @ Justine Timberlake's Shiners Concert in Las Vegas, and Taylor sounded terrible. She is a talented song writer, nice girl, good role model, etc. but her record producer/sound studio is definitely filtering her voice. Her records sound nothing like her T.V. or live performances.

It's amazing how somebody with so little talent can be so popular.

Sweetest and nicest person around.Beautiful, toughtful and talented.I just hope, as with her past bad luck with guys she doen't get her heart broken by Taylor.

I am a Grandmother with a 7 year old grand-daughter, I think Taylor Swift is an excellent role model from her looks, her songs and her genuine appreciation of her fans. She is a lovely young woman with a beautiful voice and at 19 sure to get better and better.

I could care less about Taylor...She seems like a snob...

Myla, I think you are either jealous or tone-deaf. She might not be as good as the other two artists you mentioned, but she is still developing her young voice. I think she sounds amazing and obviously millions of people agree with me. Way to go Taylor!

    yay taylor!

  • November 02, 2009 - 1:10pm Myla

Why??????????????? The girl CANNOT sing!!! Did you hear her on Dancing with the Stars? Flat, off key and HORRIBLE!!! She's famous because she sings of teen-age angst and kids her age relate to her and are "driving the bus" of her success. She couldn't hold a candle to LeeAnn Rimes or Carrie Underwood!....soooo sorry!
