For Teen Mom’s Leah Simms, reliving her separation with now-husband Corey, 20, on the MTV reality hit was nearly as brutal as the split itself.

The parents of 13-month-old twins Aleeah and Aliannah watched the January 11 premiere episode with family and friends at their West Virginia home and got choked up as they watched themselves tear up onscreen during a dinner they shared on what would have been their first anniversary of dating last summer.

"We got emotional watching the scene because you could just see how much we loved each other," Leah, 18, tells the new issue of Us Weekly, on stands now.

At the time, the pair were dealing with the fallout from their split, and Leah's subsequent dalliance with ex-boyfriend Robbie, along with daughter Ali's unexplained health condition.

And while they still don't have answers about their little one -- "Ali has had MRIs and we're still going to doctors," Leah tells Us -- their relationship is now on solid ground.

Says Leah, who wed Corey last fall, "If I hadn't made that mistake, I wouldn't have learned from it."
