Teen Wolf’s Shocking Death, The Following’s [Spoiler!] Returns — Get the Details

The cast of Teen Wolf
Jaw-dropping twists on Teen Wolf and The Following aired on Monday, March 17 -- see which character was killed off the MTV series, and which character from Kevin Bacon's FOX thriller came back from the dead

Still crying? Still freaking out!? On Monday, March 17 both MTV’s Teen Wolf and FOX’s The Following left viewers gasping in each of the episodes’ final minutes. As one series regular departed in the teen drama, another made a startling return from the dead.

[WARNING: Spoilers ahead!]

In the Jeff Davis-created wolf series, Allison Argent, played by Crystal Reed, was tragically killed off when she came face-to-face with an Oni that left her with a sword wound. Reed has been a part of the series since its first season in 2011, and admitted in a post-mortem interview with Entertainment Weekly that leaving was ultimately her decision.

“I wanted to jump into different characters. You know, I’m 29. So I think the age difference was something I wanted to change as well because she’s 17,” she said. “I love the show so much. So I went to Jeff and talked about it and he said, ‘We’ll write you a great ending.'”

Reed’s character has been a fan favorite since she first played the love interest to Tyler Posey‘s Scott McCall in the show’s earlier episodes. As viewers flocked to Twitter to react, Reed was right along with them.

“I cant compose a tweet to express my feelings. I Love you all so dearly. #mtvteenwolf,” she wrote. “So proud so honored and so humbled to be a part of @MTVteenwolf. Hoping Ally as touched you as much as she has me. xoxo.”

But as Davis’ series was losing an original cast member, Kevin Williams‘ bloody drama was bringing one back. (Along with several expletives from fans!)

In the last moment of Monday night’s episode, FBI agent Mike (Shawn Ashmore) was driven to a remote hotel by fellow coworkers to reveal none other than Claire (!?) waiting for him. As fans know, Claire, played by Natalia Zea, was the ex-wife of serial killer Joe Carroll (James Purefoy) and Ryan Hardy’s (Bacon) girlfriend. She was stabbed to death by one of Carroll’s cult followers in the show’s Season 1 finale last spring.

Claire returned with noticeably darker locks, and appeared to have been hidden away with the help of the Witness Protection Program. Mike seems to be the only main character who knows she’s still alive, leaving a huge cliffhanger as to when Ryan and Joe will find out themselves.

Zea has yet to acknowledge fan reactions, but costar Bacon did prepare viewers before the show aired. “Hey folks. @TheFollowingFOX tonight big surprises please be careful of spoilers,” he tweeted beforehand. “#westcoast #dvr #worldwide you WILL be shocked.”
