The Good Wife Finale Reunites Archie Panjabi, Julianna Margulies for Last Alicia-Kalinda Scene

Julianna Margulies
Archie Panjabi's last episode of The Good Wife brought Kalinda Sharma back together with Julianna Margulies' Alica Florrick.

Alicia and Kalinda, together at last! The Good Wife season 6 finale, which also marked Archie Panjabi's final episode as investigator extraordinaire Kalinda Sharma, featured her first scene in two seasons with Julianna Margulies' Alicia Florrick.

Although Kalinda ghosted out of town two weeks ago with barely a goodbye to anyone, not even former lover Cary Agos (Matt Czuchry) — well, save for a written confession she left Alicia — she returned to town when Lemond Bishop's lawyer, Charles Lester (Wallace Shawn), made it clear the jailed drug kingpin was looking for her.

The Return

Kalinda turned up in the most natural of places, the frozen food aisle at the grocery store. She told Lester that she knew Bishop was trying to find her, but that she didn't give Bishop up.

Our favorite mysterious investigator then showed up at the bar where Alicia was drinking with Finn (Matthew Goode), where the shocked look on Alicia's face almost made the years-long wait for the two characters to share a scene again worth it. Not quite, but almost.

"I thought you were gone," Alicia exclaimed. "I was," responded Kalinda before the two took tequila shots (callback!).

The Goodbye

"My time with you as your friend was the best I ever had and I'm sorry. I'm really sorry that things got messed up," Kalinda finally said, referring to the fact that Alicia found out Kalinda had slept with her husband, Peter (Chris Noth).

Alicia's parting words to her former friend: "I wish we had the chance to do it over again."

Bringing Back Demure

Kalinda didn't go to the meeting Lester set up with Bishop, instead finding him at a cell phone store and telling him, essentially, that she was not going down for anything they thought she did.

"What is it with all these tough-talking women? You know what word you don't hear much anymore? Demure. Let's bring that one back," he told Kalinda as she put her sunglasses on and sashayed out the door like the badass boss lady she is.

Farewell, Kalinda. You and your leather jackets will be missed.

Peter Florrick, President?

Big news for the Florrick political machine — the Democratic Party wants Peter to run for president. Not to win, though — the idea is to set him up as a perfect potential veep. Peter was jazzed about the new development, and the kids were okay with it too, but Alicia was honest with her husband and told Peter that she's not very excited and didn't think it was a good idea.

A New Partner

Finn initially agreed to partner with Alicia in a new law firm, but at the very end of the episode he stopped by her house to turn her down. Why? Because their chemistry is too strong. Finally, they acknowledge their feelings for each other! But the conversation did not end in the furious makeout sesh it should've, and he left.

A few minutes later, there was another knock on the door. Louis Canning (Michael J. Fox) — hell-bent on destroying Diane Lockhart et al for firing his wife (Susan Misner) as paralegal at the firm — was there, and had a proposition of his own for Alicia. "Wanna partner?"
