Cheryl Burke says she learned one important lesson from her former Dancing With the Stars partner Tom DeLay, who quit the show Tuesday due to a stress fracture in each of his feet.

"He taught me that politicians can dance!" she told Usmagazine.com after Tuesday's show. "He's got some rhythm in those hips."

Burke, 25, added that she also learned "a little bit about politics."

Before meeting DeLay, 62, "I never knew my left from my right," she added. "I know that's embarrassing but I'm learning!"

But the former House Republican Whip said he didn't influence her that much.

"I haven't made her a conservative yet!" he told Us. "That might have taken another month or so!"

The two still plan to dance together, despite no longer competing on the show.

"He's going to teach me the Texas two-step," Burke told Us. "I'll go back to Houston where he's from and he's going to take me to a dance hall!

DeLay wasn't the only celeb who exited Tuesday: Debi Mazar and partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy were sent home.

But she said she hasn't hung up her dancing shoes for good.

"I'll have private classes now with Maks, of course!" Mazar, 45, told Us.

Added Chmerkovskiy, 29, "Every season when we get eliminated I offer private classes. The only one who took me up on the opportunity was Mel B! So I'm hoping Debi will, too."
