Even Steve Jones is uncertain about his future on The X Factor.

Weeks after it was rumored the 34-year-old will be replaced on the hit FOX show (a claim the network later denied), Jones told New York Magazine's Vulture he hasn't officially signed on for Season 2.

"I can't even expect to see myself on the show just yet. I haven't had that conversation. Hopefully I'm involved in the second season!" the British TV host said. "I've had a whale of a time doing the first season."

Though he's looking forward to the subtle changes expected in Season 2, "I've gotta get confirmation of my involvement in it first," he said. "We'll see! Fingers crossed!"

Jones, who was originally supposed to co-host the show with Nicole Scherzinger before she joined the judging panel, said he's "been taken aback" by the "pressure" of being on The X Factor.

"I've been critiqued to hell and back throughout the press and throughout the entire process of people watching it. Maybe I was a little naive; I wasn't expecting it to be so black-and-white," Jones explained. "Half the people hate what I'm doing and half the people love what I'm doing."

"But I wanna be liked by people, so it can be a little bit upsetting when people say hurtful things," Jones said. "If you can't handle it, go home and hide under your bed."
