In real life, Zooey Deschanel rarely gets it wrong on the red carpet.
Her character in the upcoming FOX series New Girl, on the other hand, needs a style intervention.
When the 31-year-old actress' just-dumped character Jess preps for a night on the town by donning a pair of overalls, her friend Cece (Hannah Simone) steps in to help her sartorially-challenged pal.

"I was going for like a hot farmer's daughter kind of thing," Deschanel's character explains. "You know like, 'Oh, I'm going to go milk some cows...with my bucket!'"
