Suri Cruise Is Back in Heels

Monday – November 16, 2009 – 9:14am

Suri Cruise is back in heels.

Sporting pigtails, the 3-year old daughter clutched an Elmo doll as she went on a shopping trip with mom Katie Holmes Saturday in Boston, where Tom Cruise has been filming the action-comedy Knight & Day with Cameron Diaz.

Suri had a slight mishap: She got stuck in the rain and slipped out of her high heel shoes.

It isn't the first the time celeb tot has sported fancy footwear. She wore high heels in September. Cruise, 47, said his daughter loves to dress up.

"The other day, Kate showed her some gold-colored sneakers thinking she might like to wear them, and she looked at them and said, 'Oh mommy, these are lovely, but they're boy shoes,'" he told Hello! magazine last year. "She's sweet, but she's very strong-willed - just like her mother."

She is adorable and I assume very smart, but her parents are totally stupid to allow her to dress like a grown-up, make her own decisions due to as someone says Scientologists don't allow parents to say "no" to their children. If I were Katie, I would run like hell. And to call Suri all those disgusting names is not necessary, it all started with her parents. I think Katie clings to Suri because she is afraid of losing her to that freakin husband of hers. It has been said that Suri has a $3,000,000 wardrobe and never wears anything twice, if true, how disgusting!

What a shame this little girl is not living a normal childhood! Of course, we all have to look at who her father is and how he controls Katie -- she was, and I say was a vibrant young woman, now she looks so sad, and it appears her security is holding onto Suri -- high heels? Ridiculous, let her be a child and get friends her age, she will not grow up normally if she can't be with children her own age. SO SAD!

That poor child is going to have messed up feet when she gets older. It's not natural for little one's feet!!! What the heck is wrong with these parents? You're kid says I want to... and you just cave?

First of all... where the hell do you buy heels for kids? They actually have a company that manufactures them?!

Letting your child of any young age, wear shoes with open toes and an open upper on a wet, cold rainy November day is stupid. Katie and Tom consistently bring Suri out in public, dressed completely inappropriately for the weather. Many times you will see them dressed for the cold weather, with coats, hats, etc., and Suri has on a thin dress with Katie holding a blanket or sweater that Suri won't wear. As a parent, you can let your child make choices but within a safe framework. In other words, present her with two or three shoe options that are appropriate for her age and the weather conditions. She doesn't have to choose from every pair of shoes she owns. Shoes like that are fine for play time only. Heels are worn to make the legs look long and sexy. A three year old doesn't need to look sexy. Her parents know no boundries or limits and they are passing that onto Suri. Plus, instead of dragging that child out on adult shopping trips, they should be allowing her to play with children her own age. They are not allowing her to be a little girl. She always looks so sad and friendless to me. Mommy is her only friend and Mommy likes to shop.

please let Suri be a child, dont make her grow up before she should, childhood goes so quick.....!!! what are her parents thinking.......!!!! my grandaughter is 21/2 and looks as a 21/2year old should which is way better than Suri, they can still be dressed trendy and fashionable without making them look older than they are..........!!!!get real tom & katie, let her be a baby........!!!!

what is the big deal?!! she's wearing shoes with a small heel, so what?! she looks cute!! and its none of your business what parents put on their child's feet! i see parents not putting ANY shoes on their kids when its freezing outside--at least she's wearing shoes!! how could anyone, especially an adult call a child ugly or say you hate them? she did not choose her parents, nor to be famous, so leave her alone!!

I hate Suri and her parents!

Considering the damage heels can do to our feet even as a result of wearing them as adults, I would think it's not a good idea for a child. I assume her mother has discussed it with a physician.
  • November 18, 2009 - 2:52pm Sandra Mullen Says:

They let her wear heels but are still bottle feeding her. Where is their sense?
  • November 18, 2009 - 2:28pm rving Says:

Wear heels over 1/3 in is very bad for her back. In later year's this poor child will have all kinds of back problems.
  • November 17, 2009 - 6:52pm Sloane Says:

Playing dress-up w/pretend shoes is more than fine, but seriously, too-tall heels for a baby? They should spend more time weening her from the baby bottle and less time spending money on designer clothes and shoes. By the way, thought Tom and Nicole have two "other" children - where are they?
  • November 17, 2009 - 4:53pm anonymous Says:

My 3 year old loved his cowboy boots, which we allowed him to wear as often as possible. However, there were times we JUST SAID NO! I'm not being self-righteous in saying he grew up with healthy self-esteem and still likes (dare I say LOVES???) his parents. Gees-Louise, guys, setting limits (when it's done in love) for your kids won't damage them. It will make them better and prepare them for the real world, which doesn't cave in to their every demand the way a weak Mommy and Daddy might. These kinds of parents do their kids no favors.
  • November 17, 2009 - 4:37pm anonymous Says:

Sorry, GH, but parents who have well-adjusted adult children aren't self-righteous - they are EXPERIENCED. I listened to advice when I was raising my kids, and am glad I was teachable and open to the wisdom of people who had experience I could learn from. Calling this little girl names is inexcusable. However, people on this site who have pointed out that kids need healthy boundaries are spot on.

In the rain with heels... come on!!! Why even buy a tree year old heels?
  • November 17, 2009 - 1:48pm mh Says:

There is nothing wrong with those shoes. All of you with negative comments shut the eff up!!!! She's not wearing stilettos. She looks adorable.
  • November 17, 2009 - 1:40pm william Says:

Sneakers are "boy" shoes? Where would a child that age get a sexist idea like that? Hopefully she'll be encouraged to participate in some athletic activities...and learn that most girls wear sneakers..a lot more than heels. And since when do 3 year olds get to tell adults what they will and will not wear?
  • November 17, 2009 - 12:45pm Ms M Says:

You are both making her grow up toooo fast. But I'm glad to see her walking on her own two feet and not carring a bottle.
