Well, John Mayer is a d0uchebag, but you know, I think he just doesn't care. He's all into: What do the critics think of me? How many records did I sell? Are my concerts packed? I don't think he cares about anything else like being a good person or what regular people think of him. If his career ever tanks, I think he will be devastated, because that's the only thing that he values.
