As doctors frantically tried to revive Anna Nicole Smith's son Daniel after he mysteriously collapsed in September 2006, the former Playboy playmate was distraught and would not let go of him, a doctor testified at a coroner's inquest Monday.
After a "Code Blue" alert was sounded, Anna Nicole joined medical personnel as they crowded into her room, where Daniel, 20, lay unconscious, not breathing and with no pulse, Dr. James Iferenta (who was on duty at the time) said, the Associated Press reports.
"There was difficulty getting her out of the room," Iferenta said of Anna Nicole. "She clung to Smith during my time in the room."
Iferenta and Howard K. Stern were among the first of about 35 witnesses expected to testify at the inquest to formally determine Daniel's cause of death. An initial autopsy found the likely cause to be a combination of drugs, including methadone and antidepressants.
Daniel Smith died about five months before Anna Nicole herself passed away.
Testimony is set to resume Tuesday.

Why are you so defensive? Seriously its creepy. People are posting *opinions*...if you dont like it then dont blog here. I would be the first to laugh in your face if it turns out they are right. I happen to agree with them and I dont see it as a conspiracy. It is a 'possibility'. Besides, what makes you so sure Stern isnt capable of this? When someone is facing jail time or losing everything they depend on, you would be surprised what people can be capable of. It's not like people have their intentions written on their face. Even Anna had thought he was guilty of it and Im sure she knows him a hell of a lot better than you do so you can get off your high horse.

I think Daniel knew something and was going to expose the truth about HKS and what he was doing to his mother so HKS freaked and, albeit piss poor timing, got rid of him. They even reported that nurses overheard ANS screaming at HKS "You did this!" Now, think about it..why on earth would she say something like that if she didnt truly believe it to be possible? There is something more there than anyone will probably ever know. Behind closed walls we dont know what all she was witness to. Maybe she made the same mistake and also threatened to go public as well or simply cut him out of her life altogether after he showed he was capable of killing someone to preserve his lifestyle. She thought him 'needing' her would protect her but it didnt.

As a mother this brings tears to my eyes. It is a mothers worst fear..to lose a child. A part of you dies with them. All your dreams and hopes for them are ripped away and all you are left with is memories of why you loved them so much which makes the pain all the greater. I always like to think that when a child dies that there is an angel in heaven that looks like their mother to rock them to sleep at night. Daniel really has his mother to be there with him now.
I hope they find who is responsible because I find it all too creepy and suspicious that they both died within a short period of time of one another and by the same cause. HKS was present both times. I doubt it was coincidence.
