Reese Witherspoon is not engaged to Jake Gyllenhaal, her rep tells Usmagazine.com.
The UK weekly magazine Reveal claimed "exclusively" that the pair were getting married. According to the report, "Jake popped the question during a romantic trip to Rome last October, but Reese has only just accepted the Brokeback Mountain star’s proposal."
"It's absolutely false," Witherspoon's rep tells Us. "There’s not one ounce of truth to it."
Witherspoon, 31, has been seeing Gyllenhaal, 26, since early last year. She has two children, children, Ava, 8, and Deacon, 3, with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe.
“He's great!” she said of Gyllenhaal in October.

I'm so tired of you people who write such crap. The title of your article is total nonsense... you write whatever sounds good, do you. If Reese's rep. say (and we have no proof they did) "It's absolutely false", they could reply to this 'Jake popped the question during a romantic trip to Rome last October'. The people who work for both of them will never tell paps and magazines what has been said between the couple. So, if you are not hundred percent certain this is correct... why the hell write this article in the first place.
They are a cute couple. Only Jake and Reese know if they will marry one day or not... we can only guess.

I am a little afraid to say that I hope they do get engaged and married, after Hairspray's effusive praise. LOL. But I do. And I think they seem great together-- two big talents, and they seem to be good peeps. What is US Weekly talking about? There were reports of an engagement in lots of tabloids like National Enquirer, Star Magazine, Hollywood.com, etc. Why would you say that it was exclusive to Reveal magazine? And Jake has been in other movies since Brokeback (which was a great movie) like the great movie Zodiac.

Are you kidding me. Jake and Reese are a perfect couple. I love Jake gyllenhaal and for him to be going out with someone who is such a caring man is good for her. Jake is not about fame and making money. He is about findind someone he loves and creating a family. Reese is such a sweet person too, which means they are ever so perfect for each other. I love them as actors and their personalities so very much. He is a wonderful man for her inside and out. All of the rest of you are haters because you do not want her to be happy with someone. It's not like they are jumping into marriage like eddie murphy or something. It also does not matter if jake and ryan were friends, if ryan is a bad husband he does not deserve reese. Jake deserves her. And plus they are a good couple because they would compete with fame. He has been nominated for teen choice awards to golden globes to the Oscars. And also he is so so so very adorable.

They both need to find someone that brings out the giddy, stomach flips that can't help but be mirrored in their eyes.
