Jessica Alba

Jessica Alba Bio Bio

Born an Air Force brat in Pomona, California, Jessica Alba suffered numerous health problems as a child, from collapsed lungs and multiple bouts of pneumonia to asthma and a burst appendix. At 12, she took acting classes, and had an agent nine months later. Her breakthrough role was as the star of James Cameron’s Sci-Fi show Dark Angel. Although the show was cancelled after two seasons, Alba was eventually able to secure starring roles in movies like Honey, Fantastic Four, Sin City, and Into the Blue, in large part due to her stunning good looks. Despite her appearance, Alba is very modest, saying she will never be nude in any movie and even suing Playboy magazine in 2006 when it ran a (clothed) photo of her on the cover—implying, she felt, that she appeared naked inside (she dropped her suit after a personal apology from Hugh Hefner and a large donation was made in her name to one of her favorite charities).

Jessica Alba in Love Love

Alba was engaged to her Dark Angel costar Michael Weatherly, but the two split up in 2003. In August 2007, Alba ended her two-and-a-half-year relationship to Cash Warren, 28, whom she met while filming Fantastic Four. But then in late 2007, Alba reconciled with Warren, who presented her with an engagement ring after the couple announced they were expecting their first child, which is due in June 2008. Alba has stated that as the oldest of 15 cousins, she loves kids and hopes to have at least two. Alba had a top-secret wedding with Warren on May 19 in a courthouse in Beverly Hills, California, but plans to have a second wedding for family and friends.

Jessica Alba's Career Career

Alba got her start at age 13 in the movie Camp Nowhere when another actress dropped out and Alba inherited her role. Alba has enjoyed a level of stardom that has exceeded her movie roles, hosting the MTV Movie Awards in June 2006. Alba was featured with Hayden Christensen in the thriller Awake, and Good Luck Chuck, with comedian Dane Cook. In February 2008, Alba appeared in a video supporting Barack Obama's presidential campaign, telling viewers "I would like to see a cleaner Earth for my child that I'm bringing into the world very soon." In March 2008, she appeared in another video, albeit a very different kind. This time, the actress starred in a group lip-synching music video produced for fiancé Cash Warren's new social networking site.
