Online reports that new parents Nicole Richie and Joel Madden are planning a summer wedding are "not true," her rep told Usmagazine.com.
"They are not even engaged," the rep added.
OK! magazine had reported online that "invites for the blessed event are set to go out next week" and "a celeb party planner is already getting everything together for the nuptials."
Richie and Madden welcomed their first child, Harlow Winter Kate, in January.

When Nicole and Paris hit the "scene" at the time, I always liked Nicole better (I'm not a huge fan of hers though, I just prefer her over Paris). I'm not trying to be judgemental, but seriously, does anyone really think Nicole and Joel really love each other? I'm not calling their baby a 'mistake,' but things do happen. I think waiting to get married is best for the two, only because they had a child so soon, with not even being together for that long. Again, this is only my opinion. Maybe they should get to know one another first before marrying, and just focus on their child. You can be together for years without having to get married. A piece of paper doesn't define the love they would have for one another.

I think it is HILARIOUS to read some of the comments made on this site, and other gossip blogs. Don't get me wrong -- I'm here, too, right? But I hope I never leave a comment that tries to say anything more than just my opinion. Some people go right out there, boy! Making statements about how "right" they are for each other -- how they "should" get married, some boldy declaring "they will NEVER get married!"
You do know that you really DON'T know these people, right? Most likely never will. So, how can you possibly know how happy they are, when and if they'll get married, or how many more children they should have??? You have NO IDEA. I have NO IDEA, either.
Anyway, it's all in fun and other than the troubled soul (3:54) that seems to be caught up in some weird time dimension - sounds like maybe the 1800's - it's all pretty harmless.
The only point I really wanted to make is this. Is it one out of every three marriages that end in divorce or is it now closer to two out of every three? Maybe news to you, but the majority of us now know that a slip of paper does not neccesarily happiness make. Sometimes quite the opposite.
Anyway, grow up. Calling a child a bastard puts you on the same level as a person who would physically bully someone much smaller and weaker. Feeling pretty good about yourself, huh? Creep.
Getting back to my question . . . does anyone know what the most recent stats on divorce are. Too lazy to google.

It's pretty remarkable how far she's come; as if some significant piece fell into place and the selfish, self-centered child just grew-up. Motherhood definitely becomes her. It's obvious that she's smart and real but now that she's found something bigger than herself she looks fulfilled and quite beautiful.

I hope they do get married. They are a good couple and you can tell that he has been really good for her. After all she was a trainwreck when he met her and now she has Harlow(beautiful baby) and her life is going really good. I think that they are going to get married I just dont think it will be soon. I wish they would though. I dont think there are many couples in Hollywood that should be married but they most certainly should. They make a really good couple.
