Parents-to-be Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz and Nicole Richie and Joel Madden hit the same NYC restaurant, La Esquina, Wednesday.
The foursome were never photographed together.
It was the latest Big Apple outing for Simpson.
She chowed down Virgil's BBQ in Midtown Manhattan following her Tuesday appearance on MTV's TRL, where she said questions about her pregnancy were "inappropriate."
Late Tuesday, she and eight pals hit NYC Italian eatery Da Umberto.
Eating for two, she dined on antipasto, mozzarella and chicken capricciosa (pan breaded breast of chicken, mozzarella and fresh tomatoes). She skipped out on dessert, a source says.
Adds the source, "She was having fun. She was great."
Simpson is in NYC to promote her new album Bittersweet World.

God, these Simpsons are so embarassing. Well Papa Joe is pulling the same stunts with Asslee as he did with Transvestica, and look where that got her! She's such a major, respected star, not a desperate, sad pathetic little man chasing after fake boyfriends so she doesn't look like a loser. Not, not at all!

Does anybody even CARE about Ashlee Simpson??? Seriously??? Yuck! The girl is a has-been. She was once on a tv show, has albums that tank, doesn't sing live, constantly clubbing, shows up giddy and stupid at interviews. And she still gets press??!! Really? Who even cares that she's preggo?! On one site, saying papa Joe asking for $1 million for the rights to her baby story, but no buyers and it's now down to $60 thousand. That says it all. I wish that the mags would stop shoving down this has been, no talent star down the public throat! If US puts her on a cover for this, I'm not renewing again!!!! Lame!!
