To "Anonymous 10:20 PM": Are you serious? You're clearly very ignorant. Also, which ever party Lauren is voting for doesn't mean you should dismiss her as a person.

Does Lauren Conrad secretly agree with Heidi Montag's support of John McCain?
While the former BFFs usually avoid each other, both were among the celebrity guests at the White House Correspondents' dinner Saturday in Washington, D.C.
During his speech, Late Late Show host Craig Ferguson asked the crowd to cheer for which political party they want to win in this year's presidential race.
"I'm a new American so I'm trying to decide which party to vote for," he said. "Should I vote for the Republicans?"
Conrad "clapped wildly," according to New York's Daily Intelligencer blog.
Ferguson continued, "Or [should I vote for] the Democrats?"
At which point, "Conrad immediately placed her hands on the table and wrinkled her nose to her friend," the blog reported.
Earlier this month, Conrad's rep said the Hills star "believes in a private ballot but encourages everyone to vote."
The comment came after Montag endorsed McCain in the pages of Us Weekly.
"I'm honored to have Heidi's support and I want to assure her that I never miss an episode of The Hills, especially since the new season started," the Republican candidate said in response.
Conrad's ex Brody Jenner, meanwhile, has backed Barack Obama.

"...but try to act 'grown up' by being political, gays and lesbians, Blacks and Hispanics, feminists, and the low income bracket of the U.S."
That's the dumbest thing I've read in a long time.
Neither Lauren nor Heidi appear to have an original thought in their heads, so it's no surprise that they'd be Republicans. I used to live in Pebble Beach and every one of my high school friends was "Republican" (or at least said they were in our teacher's straw poll. Obviously they weren't registered to vote yet). They didn't know what that meant, but they knew they were supposed to hate Democrats.
And I have to laugh at the comment from 7:50 that Republicans are the party of personal responsibility. Oh. My. God. Who's taking responsibility for the disaster in Iraq? The inept response to Hurricane Katrina? What "nanny" government bailed out Bear Stearns? Do you not even see the bald hypocrisy?
I'm sorry, but I am so very sick of conservatives (it's the cumulative effect of the past several years) I can barely contain my contempt for them anymore.
The majority of the Democratic party are made up of young people who are basically foolish, but try to act "grown up" by being political, gays and lesbians, Blacks and Hispanics, feminists, and the low income bracket of the U.S., because they are afraid of having their free meal ticket taken away and be forced to work for a living instead of popping out kids and taking tax payers dollars.
How can anyone take people like that seriously?
Barack was raised compltetly by his white Mother and for one year by his white grandparents...I find it utterly ignorant and balantly racist that anyone could ever call him a racist. He met his black father once...educate yourselves rather then believing racist hype...a black(and white) man raised and adored by his white family running this country..that would be exactly what we would need to cure the ignorance that should be an embarrasment for all.
Wow, reading some of these comments are pretty amusing!! When did we start looking to reality T.V. stars for political advice? I really like the one that states:
"I just hope Heidi and Lauren stick to what they have been raised to believe and not ever conform to the low lives of Hollywood like Joel Madden and Nicole Richie who vote for someone because they are "cool". How ignorant."
It's funny when you say how ignorant when you are just criticizing someone for believing something you don't. Don't you think that is ignorant? Maybe people should be able to believe in what they want to and if you don't know what you are talking about keep quiet then you don't come across as ignorant. I have a degree in Political Science and I don't even talk politics! Think it over it may save you embarrassment later!!
Lauren: you, Lauren Bosworth and Kristin Callvari look exactly alike. I think you need to focus on your independent look rather then politics-seeing as though your barely 18!
hahahahaha!!!!!
Wonder if the Republicans take responsibility for Iraq, the economy, and the country's ever growing debt!?!?!

NOOOOOOOOOO! I love Lauren. If she's a republican then I will lose most of my respect for her. Although it does come as no surprise.....has anyone from Orange County ever voted democrat??
obama fo yo mama

I have never been more disgusted by a statement regarding the current political candidates then the one you purport below. For you to claim McCain is unfit to be president because he was a tortured POW is reprehensible. He is the ONLY candidate that has put his LIFE on the line for THIS COUNTRY. For this reason, if anything, he is the ONLY one that is deserving of the honor that it is to be the leader of our great nation. He has clearly shown himself to be a great later that has not made rash decisions while he has been in positions of political power. If the only thing people can mock Mccain for is his age (SNL, you really got to try harder) and his loyal service to our country, he is a shoe in for this presidency.
Anonymous, You are an ungrateful traitor to bash an American hero that gave up a portion of his freedom to protect our country.

John McCain was a tortured POW subject to mental and physical abuse. That kind of treatment has got to cause psychological damage. Former conservative Republican Senator Rick Santorum says that McCain lacks the temperment and is unfit to be President.
Do you trust McCain and his bad temper with the nuclear trigger?
who cares if she clapped for McCain?! she's allowed to vote and support anybody she wants to, and it's nobody elses business.
I grew up educated, with 2 good parents and I am most certainly not a republican. I believe you should vote for who you want, who you believe will do the best job as President. I do not believe we should all be bashing each other- isn't this country divided enough? I just don't know why people make such generalized, blanket statements, and think people will be swayed by their opinions. I do know it is easy to assume things and say things about the candidate I am not rooting for, but all that's going to do is get people riled up even more. Again, the country is divided enough. I can say this- we will be in better shape after January 20, 2009. :)

According to Heidi, John McCain is "awesome." Brody claims Obama is "cool." Can you imagine these Hills kids have a political debate? "Well, my awesome beats your cool!" Hey, you dilusional people, the Repulicans are FOR the rich. I won't get into my political tirades, because it'll take too long for me, but maybe YOU should check yourself first. America has gone down the drain since Bush has taken over, it's time we have a Democrat be in office. Whoever gets in office will still be the wrong choice, all the candidates are wrong choices, in my opinion. I also think Obama is a racist.
omg she clapped!! wow usmag is so ridiculous its called class! you clap for performers you didnt really enjoy, i mean big deal she clapped, usmag shouldnt assume that bc someone clapped out of curtesy that they are voting or even liked what was said or shown, its out of respect. this mag just cant help spreading rumors!
Us, why would you assume that because someone is a Republican, they will vote for John McCain? Conservatives detest McCain and have abandoned him. I appreciate his military service back in the 70s, but he has a forked tongue. One day, he is cussing out his fellow party members, the next day he is pretending to oppose Democratic plans for the economy, and the next, he is talking like a populist. He needs to figure out who he is.
If the DNC nominates Obama, they are idiots and deserve to lose. Hillary now has a 9-point lead over McCain in the national popular vote, but more importantly, she can take the critical electoral college states from McCain which Obama cannot. Obama has too many skeletons in his closet, and if we go to war with Iran, the center will seek safety in McCain.
barack is racist against white people and it makes me made when i see people wanting to vote for such negativity especially white people themselves why would you do that i personally think that race should not matter i mean who cares that this is the first black whatever or this is the first white whatever we are all people and why cant we leave it as that it is all pure stupidity but apparently to obama race does matter and he is ignorant
Be jealous, 6:23. It's NOT always the ones who are rich and educated who are Republicans so don't even pull the poverty card. FYI, California is a DEMOCRATIC state so it's nice to see that there are at least a few Repubs there! Check yourself before you go make yourself look stupid again.
Oh yes, Only Republicans are rich. Did you miss the Clinton's and the Obama's tax return information? And maybe George Soros has been out panhalding lately and we just haven't heard about it? Maybe all of Hollywood is on food stamps and I missed it? Oprah needs gov't housing?
Its about principles, not income level. If you believe that people cannot survive with the nanny gov't., then vote Democrat. If you think personal responsibility and achievement is important, vote Republican.
When I said, "Leave the girl alone about this" i meant that why is it important who she votes or voted for. If she wants to say who she voted for she will. also, is it not a stereotype to say that in upper class society of laguna beach people would be republican. It really doesn't matter. If people would actually vote maybe the president would represent everyone wishes and not just the 20% that care.
Whomever the girls on the Hills are voting for won't sway who I'm voting for, and I am not voting for Barack Obama, who's racist, amongst other things, etc.
yeah, funny how the ones who grew up educated with good parents and good home lives are republican. go figure...
I don't no why this is "news" I just wish people wouldn't care so much about who they support.
I don't no why this is "news" I just wish people wouldn't care so much about who they support.
Who needs to leave her alone? No one on this board is saying anything but "good for her"...
Really shocking that a rich white girl who grew up in uber-conservative Laguna Beach would be a Republican.
I agree, good for her. She should keep it private.
does it really matter who supports who? Usually it just gets their fans upset. Leave the girl alone about this, she said that she believes in private ballot. I am ok with that. Even if she supports a democrat. I really don't care.
Good for Lauren. I knew she was a smart girl. I just hope Heidi and Lauren stick to what they have been raised to believe and not ever conform to the low lives of Hollywood like Joel Madden and Nicole Richie who vote for someone because they are "cool". How ignorant.
