Expect Tom Cruise to get personal with Oprah Winfrey.
In their two-part chat – the first segment, from his home in Telluride, Colo., airs Friday — Cruise, 45, talks about his childhood, life with Katie Holmes and their daughter Suri, the Associated Press reports, citing a source.
He also gets candid about Scientology and his infamous 2005 appearance on the Today show (he called Matt Lauer "glib" during a chat about psychiatry and the use of anti-depressant drugs).
He also shares personal photos, according to the AP.
On Monday, Cruise appears in Winfrey's Chicago studio, where several colleagues congratulate him on his career.
It is the first interview between Cruise and Winfrey since Cruise jumped on Winfrey's couch three years ago.
His appearance is to commemorate the 25th anniversary of his break-out film, Risky Business.

All the bad press started when Tom Cruise talked about the side effects of psychiatric drugs. It had nothing to do with his religion or his jumping on a couch. And the not-so-funny part of it is.. he was right about how dangerous psychiatric drugs are. I'd like to see some people in the press start apologizing to him and his family for 3 years of lies, misrepresentations and hate-filled attacks. The attacks had 1 purpose and that was to tarnish his credibility, his reputation and his career. Why did the media never ask the basic question of is he right about psychiatric drugs?" A 1 minute Google search would have provided you adequate information about psych drugs. Get the real truth about what's behind the attacks against Tom Cruise and his family.

In the past, I was a huge Tom Cruise fan, and loved him and his movies. Since his Scientology rants began, I can't bear watching the man, and won't be watching the Oprah interview. Quite frankly, I find him, and his "religion", frightening. I sincerely hope he and Katie are happy, and wish them well, but I am a FORMER fan, and shall remain so.

I'm the first to admit that this guy freaks me out a little but I wonder if I'm judging someone unfairly because he is so passionate about everything he cares deeply about. I'm starting to change my mind about this guy. I think he is just a high spirited man who is in love with his life, family and beliefs. And he is so long deserving of an oscar it's ridiculous. Jeannette - more kind hearted people? Caring? Scientology is a cult that spews hate against homosexuality, any kind of psychatric illness and does not believe in autism, learning diablilities ect. John Travolta and Kelly Preston's older child is severly autistuc. They will not even admit thier is a problem and as a result the only help he has ever recieved is from the cult. Religions are not started by science fiction authors - cults are.
The whole purpose of a scientology/cult is to pass judgement on non members. Members are better non members. Conversion is the only way to live a life like "tom cruise" a true believer.
