I'm a black female and Star jones losing weight has nothing to do with aunt jemima or race. She appears nasty, egotistical, full of herself, a wanna be. She has a bad attitude and little talent, just guts. She was just a D list prosecutor who seized the opportunity. Her claim to any talent is she seized the opportunity to comment on court tv whereas others may have been afraid. She is nothing special. IN fact she was the one that played the aunt jemima role. a loud ignorant, D list attorney acting like a stereotypical loud black women. She spent all those years in school and is still a loud black woman. So she is embarrasing me as a black female and herself. She has a bad attitude and acting so above it all makes her looks like a fake fool. Learn some humility fool!!!

Who cares what color of a man she had an affair with? Stop the racism.
And Barbara has every right to say what she wants, so long as it's true.
If Star didn't want anyone to know about her surgery, then she shouldn't have got it done in the first place. You are a celebrity, and you know what that entails. She shoulda already knew what that entailed, your business out in the open. Being rich and a celebrity has its ups and downs. Get over it.

Barbara has every right to sell her book, however, rolling over on your colleagues, friends and especially other proffessional women is counter productive to the women's movement& unethical. I admit the playing field between men and women has leveled somewhat, but we as women socially have quite a bit of distance to go. Barbara threw Star under the bus and violated her right to privacy. In this country we are protected by laws that protect our personal information, which includes medical information. Now I understand that Ms. Jones is a celebrity and has forfeited a signifigant amount of her privacy, but there has to be a limit as to what the public is entitled to know. It's her legal right. I for one gain nothing from knowing about her gastric bypass surgery. That wasn't information for Barbara to tell. Lord knows she has enough juicy material of her own to get that book to sell. On a legal stand point she operated well within in the boundaries. On an ethical stand point she violated Star Jones' right to privacy and threw a fellow female collegue under the bus just to generate added interest in her memoirs. It was a cheesy move. I've always admired Barbara Walter's acheivements as I do most successful women. Because I've grown up witness to the growth of her sucess, I have to ask if she was ever the least bit introspective and asked herself if violating this trust was worth tarnishing her own good name. It poses several questions for me. My guess is that the persona she poses to be publically is a cover for how low she's willing to go to maintain her notariety. As for Barbara's affair(s)...who cares. She's an adult, life throws many twists and turns at you. No one is above reproach, so judging others is quite hypocritical. In the twilight of Barbara's career, she chose to tarnish her own public image. Would you trust her now?

I believe that Barbara is jealous of Star Jones. I checked. Barbara had three failed marriages and dated many men! Jealousy is vicious!

By the way, I am white and I find some of these comments on here sad and funny at the same time. I don't care if

Remember when she publicity backed Rosie O'Donell with her feud against Trump? Denied that she called Trump and said hiring Rosie was a mistake. She denied, denied and denied. Yet Rosie was fired. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

I agree with you 1000%!!!!! Isn't it funny how the white people here are quick to bash Star for not admitting to gastric bypass when Barabara admitted to having an illicit affair? Which is worse?!?!?! Clearly, the adultery is TONS worse than Star not admitting to something that most of the population knew anyway. Also, Barbara has had SEVERAL plastic surgeries and has YET to admit to any of them! Not one. Oh and I will admit that Star was a bit of a pain (yammering about how much she wanted to get married, and after getting married going on and on and on and on and on about her marriage) but she has a LOT more class in her little finger than Barbara Walters has in her entire body or botoxed face! She (Barbara) is a very messy woman who has gotten so much botox and plastic surgeries that her face is motionless. At least Star's face moves when she makes expressions! Barbara is a trashy woman and white people need to FACE THE FACT that, skinny, fat or in between, divorced or not, Star Jones IS a lawyer (state of New York) and has made more money than many of them will make in a lifetime. I was never a Star fan, but I'm sorry she was not obligated to tell the world how she lost weight. I guess because she was sitting there with a group of women that they were expected to "gab" about it. Women should find more important things to talk about than stars and weight.

Who cares about any of these rich & one completely ancient you know what’s that begin with a BIG letter B!!! They are laughing all the way to the bank & they all need to retire & give some of the younger people in Hollywood a chance...esp. Barbara~ how old is she 150 & who cares if she bedded someone 100 years ago???.. She’s as bad now as Harry Reasoner was to her long ago when she tried to get her start...And her crying with Oprah made me violently ill esp. since she is a hard as steel!!! If she had any class she would shut her BIG flap... And as for Star- I will give her credit for her gracious interviews on the Red Carpet as compared to that nasty overdone Plastic Surgery yenta & her daughter~ now they were AWFUL and belonged on an episode of Jerry!!! BUT, Star gouging everybody for freebees for her wedding should now be made to pay everyone back...What I can't understand is people not seeing them for what they are???? Now you have to wonder about the Views crediblity. Are they lying about other things too? Could be! Barbara just shot herself in the foot with this book. People admired her, but now people are gonna wonder about her. Such a shame!

Such hypocrites some of you are. Star lied about her surgery which affected nobody but her. Barbara lied about having an affair with a married man which affected the man's wife, his young daughters, and ultimately his career. Get a grip and put it in perspective.
