Ryan Phillippe went from playing the first gay character on daytime television, to starring in a string of teen flicks, only to end up in his most prominent role as Mr. Reese Witherspoon. Phillippe, discovered by a casting agent as a teenager in Delaware, recently appeared in the Oscar-winning Crash. Phillippe met his wife, actress Reese Witherspoon, at her 21st birthday party. Sparks flew and the pair became engaged before the filming of Cruel Intentions. They have two children, Ava and Deacon. Phillippe and Witherspoon divorced in October 2006. Phillippe’s career began with controversy in 1992, when he joined the cast of One Life to Live and played Billy Douglas, the first gay teenager on daytime television. Ahead of its time, Phillippe didn’t last much longer than a year on the ABC soap and headed to Hollywood. In 1997, he starred in I Know What You Did Last Summer, followed by 54 and Cruel Intentions.
