His big "break" into film:

"Two days before shooting began [on Lord of the Flies], I fell repelling out of a tree. I broke both of my wrists and completely messed up my arm. I was going into surgery right before they began filming and they decided to write it into the script. They tied a t-shirt into a sling for the character."

His favorite babysitter:

"Sean Penn was a friend of the family. We like to joke that he baby-sat me, but I don't think he had a bottle in hand. He'd just come over and watch me for awhile."

His band's music video director, Joaquin Phoenix:

"He knew exactly what he wanted and went for it. He had such an amazing passion and inspiration. He really rallied the troops. A lot of people on the set said they've been doing music videos for a long time and hadn't seen someone direct a video like that with such passion."

His favorite music of the moment:

"There's this band Melodrone. I played the disc until it broke. I like the new Rapture and Justin Timberlake album. I love the Muse. Every Tuesday when the new records come out, I run down to the store. It's my favorite thing to do."
