Tom Cruise Bio Bio

Cruise was born July 3, 1962, in Syracuse, New York. Growing up, he was raised in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, Louisville, Kentucky, Winnetka, Illinois and Wayne, New Jersey. He briefly attended a Franciscan seminary in Cincinnati and had aspirations to become a Catholic priest, though Cruise is now an outspoken member of the Church of Scientology. Following huge publicity pushes for his movies War of the Worlds and Mission: Impossible: 3, as well as the birth of his daughter Suri Cruise with wife Katie Holmes, Cruise is keeping a relatively low profile — but only after a year of eyebrow-raising antics, including infamous appearances on The Oprah Winfrey Show and The Today Show.
