Jessica Simpson Bio Bio

Jessica Ann Simpson was born July 10th, 1980 in Dallas, Texas to Joe and Tina Simpson. Her father Joe was a minister as well as her manager and her younger sister, Ashlee, is also a singer and actress. In her early days, she auditioned for the Mickey Mouse Club, but lost out to fellow superstars like Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera. Jessica originally signed with an independent record label that folded prior to signing with Columbia Records. She hit the charts in 1999 with her album Sweet Kisses and has followed with three other albums. She has also made a name for herself in the TV and film industries, appearing most notably with ex Nick Lachey in MTV's reality series Newlyweds.

Since her divorce from husband Nick Lachey in 2005, Simpson's love life has been a topic of hot conversation. Simpson began dating Lachey, a member of the boy band 98 Degrees, during a joint concert tour in summer 1999. The two were engaged in February 2002 and married on October 26, 2002. Their marriage was the subject of the MTV reality series Newlyweds which made them one of America's most recognizable couples. The two separated in November 2005 and their divorce was finalized July 1, 2006. Since the split, Simpson has been linked to Adam Levine of Maroon 5, Johnny Knoxville, Dane Cook, and pro-skater Bam Margera. In August of 2006, Jessica revealed that she had been seeing musician John Mayer. Though the relationship was initially questioned as merely a publicity stunt, the two rang in 2007 as a couple. The couple’s on/off relationship of eight months officially cooled in June 2007. In early 2008, Simpson supported current beau, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo at many of his football games.

Simpson’s debut album Sweet Kisses was released in 1999. On the strength of her singles "I Wanna Love You Forever" and "I Think I'm In Love With You," the CD sold close to two million copies. Her sophomore album, Irresistible (2001), was certified gold. The title track reached No. 3 on the Top 40 chart. Her third record, In This Skin, was released in August 2003. Her fourth album A Public Affair was released in August 2006 to which the title single was released to mediocre reviews. Simpson hit the small screen in 2003, starring along side her former husband Nick Lachey for two seasons in Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica as well as a recurring role on That '70s Show as Annette, girlfriend of Kelso (Ashton Kutcher). She made the jump to the big screen as Daisy Duke in 2005's Dukes of Hazzard. In 2006, she appeared in the film Employee of the Month opposite Dane Cook. Simpson will soon be starring in Major Movie Star and her working girl remake, Blonde Ambition, went straight to DVD. Simpson, along side hairstylist and pal, Ken Paves, also has a line of clip-in hair extensions called HairDo available on the Home Shopping Network. Simpson is extending her name even further with her denim line JS by Jessica Simpson and her line of trendy shoes simply named Jessica. The two can be found in department stores around the country.
