Jennifer Lopez Bio Bio

With an estimated net worth of more than $250 million, the actress and musician also known as J. Lo was born to Puerto Rican parents in the Bronx. Her combined skills in dancing, singing and acting have landed her star roles and top albums, catapulting her to megastar status in both the Latina and American worlds.

Jennifer Lopez in Love Love

Lopez has been married to Ojani Noa, dancer Cris Judd, and most recently to current husband and fellow pop star Marc Anthony. Her roller-coaster relationship with Sean Combs resulted in Lopez’s arrest after a shoot-out in 1999, and her engagement to Ben Affleck in a romance coined “Bennifer” ended despite an engagement ring with an estimated worth of $1.2 million. These ultra-publicized romantic escapades pushed Lopez to adopt a more private romantic life after she married Anthony in June 2004. On September 5, 2007, a judge ordered Lopez’s first husband, Ojani Noa, to pay her $545,000 for breach of their confidentiality agreement. Lopez’s suit alleged he threatened to publish a tell-all book about her unless she paid him $5 million. On February 22, 2008, Lopez gave birth to twins, son Max and daughter Emme. They are the first children for Lopez and fourth and fifth for Anthony.

Jennifer Lopez's Career Career

After early 90’s stints as a fly dancer on the hit Fox show In Living Color and a back-up dancer for Janet Jackson, Lopez backed out of Jackson’s world tour to pursue acting, appearing on South Central, Hotel Malibu and other short-lived television shows, before landing a role with Wesley Snipes in 1995’s Money Train. Lopez’s groundbreaking starring role in the 1997 biopic Selena brought her to megastar status. She became the first Hispanic actress to get paid more than one million dollars for a film role. After wowing critics in The Cell, Out of Sight and other edgy thrillers, she explored her comedic side in The Wedding Planner, Maid in Manhattan, Shall We Dance? and Monster In Law. Lopez has since revisited her edginess with Bravetown and El Cantante, two indie releases that mark a major change in Lopez’s work. In El Cantante, a film based on the true story of Salsa King Hector Lavoe, Lopez stars alongside hubby Marc Anthony. Lopez’s music career exploded as quickly as her film career. Her debut album, On the 6 and 2001’s J. Lo surprised many by topping the charts. Lopez’s recent release, “Como Ama Una Mujer,” is her first in the Spanish language. The video for “Qué Hiciste” was the first Spanish-language music video to reach number one on Total Request Live. The singer's sixth studio album, Brave, was released October 9, 2007. In November 2007, Lopez took home the American Music Award for Best Latin Artist. In June 2008, Lopez took to the stage to perform for the first time since the birth of her twins, Max and Emme, during a surprise appearance at an elementary school for special needs students in Staten Island, New York.
