Season of love! Idina Menzel debuted her diamond engagement ring on the red carpet at the 2016 iHeartRadio Music Festival on Saturday, September 24, in Las Vegas.
The Frozen star, 45, who announced her engagement to fellow Broadway veteran Aaron Lohr on Friday, stepped out wearing a plunging black jumpsuit, Simon G. Jewelry statement earrings and the sparkling solitaire by Brilliant Earth. The stunner features a 2-carat center stone with alternating round and baguette diamond details along the band.
“I’m super happy, yeah! Very happy,” the mom of one told Elvis Duran at the annual fest. “I’m happy because it’s all coming together, everything feels good. I went through a lot of stuff and it’s new beginnings.”
Menzel announced the news with two back-to-back tweets. “What an incredible week. Thank you to everyone for all your support with the album,” she began, referencing her just-released eponymous album. Then she dropped the big reveal: “As if this week couldn’t get any better I have wonderful news … my man and I are engaged! We are so happy. It’s a beautiful time.
The Tony winner and Lohr began dating in 2015. They also appeared in the 2005 big-screen adaptation of Rent. (Menzel was part of the original Broadway cast.)
This is Menzel’s second marriage and Lohr’s first. The Enchanted actress shares a son, Walker, 7, with her ex-husband, Taye Diggs.
