Even the stars get starstruck! Sarah Jessica Parker met Kim Kardashian backstage at Kanye West‘s concert on Monday, September 5, and the Sex and the City alum could not have been more impressed.
“She was lovely,” the Divorce actress, 51, told The Daily Mail, noting that she was “incredibly impressed” with the reality star’s “presence.” “My son is a huge Kanye fan and they were really gracious and allowed him time with Kanye, and that was in large part Kim’s doing.”
And yes, despite being a social media maven, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, 35, gave SJP — and everyone else in the room — her undivided attention. “There was a focus that I witnessed, not just with my son, who she gave a lot of time to, but with everyone in the room,” the mom of three said. “She was never looking over her shoulder, she was hospitable and lovely.”
That said, Kardashian couldn’t resist completely unplugging — but it wasn’t her own phone she grabbed! “It was so cool to watch her with my phone,” the Hocus Pocus actress said. “She took [it] and was like, ‘Let me shoot this whole thing,’ and she shot the whole conversation with Kanye and my son, which was so sweet.”
Parker was also asked how she feels about Kardashian’s status as a tastemaker. “[She] obviously has enormous influence, and she is more and more aware of what she wants and the images that she chooses to project, which she is in complete control of,” she said. “I think she is a young woman who is evolving all the time and one shouldn’t make a decision about anybody. She is not baked and done — I’m not either — so let her experiment and delight in the choices she has to make, and let’s be kind to one another.”
And the love is mutual! In a Snapchat video captured by Kardashian backstage at the concert, she told the All Roads Lead to Rome actress, “You’re like my idol.” Parker replied, “No!” But Kardashian, mid-selfie, continued, “You’re the most amazing person on the planet.”
