On weekends you can find her walking the beach, sipping an excessive amount of iced tea and reimagining her life as a John Hughes film.

Johnni has been working in the entertainment industry since 2012 and was an intern in the same arena before that. She has red carpet reporting experience covering award shows like the Teen Choice Awards as well as press junkets. Her favorite celebrity interview to date is Sophie Turner, who offered her a cup of tea and said her name in an accent you can’t help but love. Johnni has also been a writer and editor for both print and online publications for nearly a decade. She is a royal guru, TV addict and frequent writer of celebrity news and nostalgia content.

Education

Johnni studied print and digital journalism at the University of Southern California. She graduated in 2012. She was born a Trojan (both her parents graduated from there) and therefore bleeds cardinal and gold!

Work history

Before joining the Us Weekly team in 2019, Johnni was a writer and editor for People’s Choice Awards at E! News. She previously worked for PopSugar, Hello Giggles and Teen.com. Johnni got her start in the entertainment industry as the photo editor for BOP and Tiger Beat magazines and has done her fair share of creating photo shoot props and arguing which One Direction member was actually best.
