Anya Taylor-Joy

Anya Taylor-Joy was born in Miami, Florida, however, was raised in both Buenos Aires, Argentina and London, England due to her parent’s work.

Taylor-Joy began her acting career in 2014, earning early recognition for her breakout role as Thomasin in Robert Eggers’ horror film The Witch (2015). She followed this success with roles in several notable movies such as Split, Glass, Thoroughbreds, Emma, Last Night in Soho, The Northman, The Menu, The Super Mario Bros. Movie and Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. She also appeared as Gina Gray in Peaky Blinders from 2019 to 2022 before landing The Queen’s Gambit in 2020. Her performance as the brilliant but troubled chess prodigy in The Queen’s Gambit, won her numerous accolades, including an Emmy nomination, a Golden Globe Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award, solidifying her status as a household name.

Taylor-Joy began dating Malcolm McRae, frontman of the rock band More, in 2021. They tied the knot in April 2022.
