37 Best Shows on Apple TV Right Now (August 2026): ‘Ted Lasso’ Season 4

It’s time to feel good again. Ted Lasso is back for another season filled with good vibes, miraculous soccer goals, and yes, some fresh “Biscuits with the Boss” snacks. Ted Lasso (Jason Sudeikis), along with most of the AFC Richmond crew like Rebecca Welton (Hannah Waddingham), Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein) and Keeley Jones (Juno Temple), return to coach a new team of lovable underdogs – the Lady Greyhounds.

Is season 4 as good as season 1? No, but most shows aren’t, either. The current season gives you more of the same, with Lasso still dispensing folksy advice and Rebecca remaining the show’s MVP. Ted Lasso is unchallenging comfort food, but it wasn’t meant to be anything else other than that. 

In 1971, a serial killer nicknamed the Undresser stalks the streets of Mexico City. Because the police have failed to apprehend the culprit, their public image has taken a big hit. To distract the public from their failure, they concoct a brilliant PR stunt — assemble the city’s first-ever all-female police squad. But these “women in blue” want to do more than the menial tasks their male bosses have assigned them. They want to capture the Undresser themselves, and they’re willing to bend the law to do so.

Women in Blue is a fascinating combination of police procedural, serial killer thriller and social satire about females rebelling within the patriarchy. Allegedly based on real-life events, the series is more fiction than reality, but when the fiction is this entertaining, it doesn’t really matter. Season 2 just dropped in August, with a new mystery involving the discovery of a dead body. This Spanish-language series isn’t as well known as Apple TV’s other mystery shows like Presumed Innocent, but it’s just as satisfying and uniquely its own thing.

Con artist Lucky (Anya Taylor-Joy) lives up to her name – she’s been lucky in life, love and robbing others to reward herself. But Lucky’s luck runs out when a multi-million dollar heist goes wrong, and her husband, Cary (Drew Starkey), goes missing. Now Lucky has to find him and the stolen loot before the police and a ruthless mob boss find her and make her pay one way or another.

Lucky is based on Marissa Stapley’s bestselling novel of the same name, but it’s more inspired by Steven Soderbergh’s ‘90s thrillers and Quentin Tarantino’s Jackie Brown. Taylor-Joy is perfect as a young woman who’s always had to take from others to get what she’s always wanted – money, yes, but also love and security. Those things are hard to come by when you’re a con artist, and the pleasure of watching Lucky is watching its titular heroine realize nothing, not even her good luck, lasts forever. The supporting cast includes Justified’s Timothy Olyphant as Lucky’s criminal father and Nickel Boys’ Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor as a determined FBI agent. 

The best streamer to watch high-quality science fiction isn’t Netflix; surprisingly, it’s Apple TV, and Silo is a big reason why. The acclaimed show, set in a dystopian future where humans live in underground silos, delivers thought-provoking stories on a massive scale while also offering memorable characters that are noble, despicable, greedy and violent – sometimes, one character is all of the above and more.

Dune actress Rebecca Ferguson stars as Juliette Nichols, an engineer working and living in Silo 18, one of the few underground bunkers containing the remnants of humanity. A mysterious event had wiped out most of surface life, forcing the survivors to live in “silos” of communities where everyone knows everyone – or so they think. When Rebecca’s lover is found dead, she’s not buying the official story that no foul play was involved. What the heck is going on in Silo 18?

Season 3 is divided into two narratives: one set in the present, chronicling Juliette as she deals with her memory loss from season 2, and another set in the past, revealing the crisis that led to humanity’s downfall and the creation of the silos. The result is two great sci-fi shows in one. That’s difficult to pull off, but Silo does and, in the process, becomes one of the best shows currently streaming.

The Peanuts gang has been going strong for well over half a century, and they aren’t going away anytime soon. The tech nerds over at Apple have been steadily pumping out new animated specials over the years, and they’re releasing another one, There’s No Place Like Home, Snoopy, at the end of July.

Disaster strikes poor Snoopy (Terry McGurrin) – his famous red doghouse has been stolen! He later finds out that it hasn’t been stolen so much as mistakenly sold by Sally (Grace Nicolaou-Wood) during a yard sale. He’s still without a home, though, so, along with good pal Charlie Brown (Riley Vargas), he sets out on a quest to get it back. 

Featuring an original song, “Home Where Your Heart Found Me” by Allen Stone, There’s No Place Like Home, Snoopy harkens back to classic Peanuts specials like It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown with its good-natured humor and subtle thematic messages about what – or who – makes a place a home.

It’s hard to feel bad for Anna and Tom Bowden (Amy Adams and Patrick Wilson). They’re both successful lawyers, they own a gorgeous home in Savannah and they have raised two well-behaved children. But the Bowdens’ picture-perfect life is threatened by the arrival of Max Cady (Javier Bardem), Anna’s old client who was locked away for murder for 17 years. He’s now free and nursing a bitter grudge against the Bowdens, whom he believes conspired to imprison him without a fair trial. Now he wants to judge them for their crimes against him, and the verdict is already in – they’re guilty, and the whole family is sentenced to suffer.

No one asked for yet another remake of the 1962 thriller Cape Fear, but we got one, and it’s a shocker. This 10-episode series is actually good, really good, and it preserves the original and remake’s pot-boiler elements. Adams and Wilson are fine form as a model couple who are hiding a shameful secret from their past, while Bardem is legitimately scary as the menacing Cady. Juliette Lewis, who starred in the ‘91 version, also appears in a brief role, and the supporting cast also includes Ron Perlman, CCH Pounder and The Silence of the Lambs’ Ted Levine.

Sometimes, all a girl wants to do is relax and get off … work, that is. Paula (Tatiana Maslany) is a professional fact-checker who is stressed out about being a single mom, paying the bills and perpetually swiping left on endless dating apps. She needs someone to talk to, and she finds that person in Trevor (Brandon Flynn), a hunky camboy who actually listens to her. They form a bond that’s beyond digital foreplay, but when Trevor goes missing, Paula leaps into action. She wants to know what happened to her virtual boy toy, even if that means risking her life to do so. 

Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed is probably the first TV show ever to have its critical review also be its title. Yes, maximum pleasure is guaranteed in the eight-episode series, and that’s due to a twistier-than-usual narrative, a supporting cast full of red herrings and green-with-envy characters and an outstanding lead performance by Maslany. Her Paula is someone we can all relate to – a working-class person who finds release through sex and then by investigating a murder. Isn’t that why we watch shows like Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed in the first place? 

Horror-comedy shows rarely work, which is why Widow’s Bay feels so miraculous. The critically acclaimed series stars Matthew Rhys as Tom Loftis, the new mayor of a beautiful New England coastal town called Widow’s Bay. Tom wants the sleepy village to be the next Cape Cod, but he has to deal with one pesky problem — ghosts. It seems the town is haunted, and while Tom is at first skeptical, he gradually believes that his new hometown really is cursed. That’s not only bad for business, it’s also lethal for everyone who visits there, and that includes Tom. And you thought your job was a killer!

Widow’s Bay works first and foremost as a creepy series that effectively dabbles in horror sub-genres with each episode. In one episode, Tom has to stay at the town’s inn that’s haunted by a poltergeist. In another, Tom is terrorized by a sea hag who wants to sit on his face. (Don’t ask.) The show is also surprisingly funny, with most of the laughs coming from Rhys’ everyman reactions to his extraordinary circumstances. Widow’s Bay is Apple TV’s best show of 2026 so far, and that’s high praise from a network that’s already given us Margo’s Got Money Troubles with Nicole Kidman as a female wrestler.

At five seasons and counting, For All Mankind is one of Apple TV’s longest-running and most successful shows. It’s no surprise that just as that series is ending, a spinoff is dropping around the same time. Star City goes back in time in its sister’s show to an alternate history and looks at the space race from the Soviet Union’s perspective. In this reality, the Soviets were the first to put a man on the moon, but how did they accomplish such a feat?

Notting Hill‘s Rhys Ifans leads the cast as the Chief Designer of the Cosmonaut program, who must deal with the usual technical and scientific problems with putting a human in space, as well as issues unique only to a government-sponsored program in a communist country. Anna Maxwell Martin costars as Lyudmilla Raskova, the head of the KGB at Star City, who makes sure everyone is loyal to the space program — and Mother Russia. The eight-episode series debuts on May 29 and streams its season 1 finale on July 10.

Margo’s Got Money Troubles features Elle Fanning in the lead as Margo Millet, a brilliant young woman whose life is derailed after becoming pregnant. The same thing happened to Margo’s parents, Shyanne Millet (Michelle Pfeiffer) and Jinx Millet (Nick Offerman), decades earlier.

OnlyFans wasn’t an option for Shyanne when Margo was an infant, but it is for her daughter. Through that site, Margo finds an audience for her spicy content. But that may also cost her custody of her daughter when the father uses Margo’s newfound career against her.

Consequences are rolling out in Your Friends & Neighbors season 2 for both Andrew “Coop” Cooper (Jon Hamm) and his ex-lover, Samantha “Sam” Levitt (Olivia Munn). The latter tried to frame Sam for murder in season 1, and now she’s been ostracized by their entire neighborhood. As for Coop, he’s still stealing from his wealthy neighbors to provide for his family alongside Elena (Aimee Carrero).

Unfortunately for Coop, his secret double life as a thief has been exposed to two other people, including an enigmatic billionaire, Owen Ashe (James Marsden). Owen could expose Coop if he wants to, but he’s playing a different game. If Coop wants to get out from under Owen’s thumb, then he’ll have to play an even longer game to be his own boss again.

How well do you know your closest friends? That’s the question Mary (Elisabeth Moss) and Eleanor (Kerry Washington) are forced to ask themselves in Imperfect Women. Mary and Eleanor thought their best friend, Nancy (Kate Mara), was an open book to them. But when Nancy is murdered, they slowly come to realize that she took a lot of secrets to her grave.

Nancy’s friends are so shaken by her death that they begin their own investigation into who killed her. It almost certainly has to be someone Nancy knew, which means the killer may be closer to Eleanor and Mary than they suspect.

For All Mankind envisions an alternate timeline in which the Russians beat America to the moon and kick the space race into a new gear. Season 5 pushes the timeline even further by setting the story in 2012, as the Happy Valley colony on Mars edges closer to being self-sufficient. But this isn’t a Star Trek show, and there’s trouble on the horizon.

The Martian colonists are growing frustrated with taking orders from Earth, and the U.S. presidential administration is threatening to cut off the colony’s support. This is the kind of situation that may lead to a war for Martian independence. However, Earth isn’t willing to simply let Mars go off by itself, and there will inevitably be bloodshed on the red planet.

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters shares continuity with the Monsterverse movies starring Godzilla and Kong, both of whom appear in season 2. That’s because the Monarch team has inadvertently opened the door to our world for a Titan that’s even bigger than Godzilla or Kong. And it’s leaving devastation in its wake.

While Cate Randa (Anna Sawai) is guilt-stricken for her role in this crisis, Lee Shaw (Kurt Russell) has a dangerous plan to pit Kong and Godzilla against the new Titan. That’s a recipe for disaster, but the Monarch team may not have any other viable options.

As established in The Last Thing He Told Me season 1, the mob wants Owen dead, and it has only grudgingly allowed his family to live.

In season 2, Hannah has had enough. Owen may have his own plans to take down the mob, but Hannah insists on being a part of them. She and Bailey are tired of looking over their shoulders. Unfortunately for the family, the mob has never stopped watching them. By taking action against them, Hannah has invited reprisals against herself and Bailey. If the mob can’t find Owen, it may settle for hurting his family.

Shrinking is heading around a corner in season 3 that may be sending this critically acclaimed comedy/drama towards its conclusion. Jimmy Laird (Jason Segel) had spent so much time grieving for his late wife that he was neglecting their daughter, Alice (Lukita Maxwell), and losing sight of the things that made life worth living. Now, Alice is heading off to college, and Jimmy may find love again with a woman named Sofi (Cobie Smulders).

Meanwhile, Jimmy’s mentor and surrogate father, Paul Rhoades (Harrison Ford), is keeping his spirits up while battling Parkinson’s Disease. This season, Paul meets a kindred spirit in Gerry (Michael J. Fox), a man who is suffering from many of the same afflictions. Paul’s relationship with Jimmy remains good, but the return of Jimmy’s estranged father, Randy Laird (Jeff Daniels), may kick up some unpleasant emotions from both of them.

Tehran is an Israeli spy thriller starring Niv Sultan as Tamar Rabinyan, a Jewish woman and a Mossad agent who is deeply embedded in Iran. After the events of season 2, Tamar has been marked for death by Mossad for disobeying orders. Now, she has no one left she can count on to watch her back.

Meanwhile, nuclear inspector Eric Peterson (Hugh Laurie) has gone to great lengths to prove that Iran is developing nuclear weapons. So much so that his life is endangered, and Tamar may be his only hope of getting out of the country alive. Mossad needs Tamar back in the fold, but trust may be the one commodity she can’t afford anymore.

Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul creator Vince Gilligan reunites with actress Rhea Seehorn in Apple TV’s acclaimed sci-fi series, Pluribus. Seehorn plays Carol Sturka, a relentlessly unhappy fantasy romance novelist, but she has some good reasons for her displeasure. Her partner, Helen (Miriam Shor), just died, and Carol is also one of approximately 12 individuals in the entire world who are immune to the alien hive mind virus that conquered humanity.  

No matter where Carol goes, everyone knows her name and the hive mind wants to make her happy so she can be assimilated with the rest of humanity. Somehow, the most miserable person on the face of the planet has to free humanity from the shackles of happiness. And saving the world isn’t exactly her forte.

Pluribus is streaming on Apple TV.

Down Cemetery Road is a British conspiracy thriller starring Ruth Wilson as Sarah Trafford, a museum conservator whose acquaintance, Maddie Singleton, dies in a suspicious explosion, leaving her young daughter,  Dinah (Ivy Quoi), as the only survivor. Sarah notices that Dinah’s presence at the event has been hidden from the press and that the girl is in danger.

Zoë Boehm (Emma Thompson) is a private investigator who looks into the threat against Dinah. However, Zoë soon has a very personal stake in this case. To get answers and to protect Dinah, Sarah and Zoë will have to team up and watch each other’s backs.

Down Cemetery Road is streaming on Apple TV.

The Mosquito Coast was previously adapted in 1986 as a film starring Harrison Ford, but The Leftovers‘ Justin Theroux takes the leading role in the Apple TV series. Theroux plays Allie Fox, an inventor who lives off the grid with his wife, Margot (Melissa George), and their children, Dina (Logan Polish) and Charlie (Gabriel Bateman). 

After years of hiding, the family’s location is exposed to their enemies, much to the bewilderment of Dina, who wanted to go off and have her own life. Now, Allie and Margot need to flee to Mexico without being detected, while Dina has to decide whether she’s going to stick with her family or leave them at their most vulnerable moment.

The Mosquito Coast is streaming on Apple TV.

Palm Royale is a period comedy starring Kristen Wiig as Maxine Dellacorte-Simons, a woman who will do just about anything to earn a place among the high society figures of Palm Beach. In season 1, she even managed to get close to a clique, including Evelyn Rollins (Allison Janney), Dina Donahue (Leslie Bibb) and Mary Jones Davidsoul (Julia Duffy).

Maxine also had a very public meltdown at the end of season 1, which is why season 2 begins with her being involuntarily committed to a psychiatric asylum. Her aunt-in-law, Norma Dellacorte (Carol Burnett), is taking the opportunity to try to get Maxine out of the picture. To make things even worse, Maxine’s husband, Douglas (Josh Lucas), doesn’t seem to need much incentive to turn against her.

The Last Frontier comes off as a more serious version of Con Air. A plane full of dangerous convicts has crashed in the Alaskan wilderness, possibly at the behest of one of the prisoners, a man the CIA calls Havlock (Dominic Cooper).

U.S. Marshal Frank Remnick (Jason Clarke) is the man tasked with hunting down all of the surviving prisoners, while CIA agent Sidney Scofield (Haley Bennett) just wants Havlock captured at all costs. As for Havlock himself, he takes an interest in Frank and forms a plan to blackmail him by targeting Frank’s family.

The Last Frontier is streaming on Apple TV.

Loot is back for a third season on Apple TV, and Molly Wells (Maya Rudolph) is just as clueless as ever. Molly became a billionaire by divorcing one, and she wants to give away her fortune even though she’d be lost without the money and wealth she enjoys.

Season 3 picks up with Arthur (Nat Faxon) easing into a romance with Molly, who has no idea how to cut back on her excess spending. The return of Molly’s ex-husband, John Novak (Adam Scott), may also make it difficult for Molly and Arthur to keep their relationship on track.

Sylvia (Rose Byrne) and Will (Seth Rogen) are just friends on Platonic, but their lives are so interconnected that they might as well be in a romantic relationship. That’s caused some problems for them over the years, including friction with Sylvia’s husband, Charlie (Luke Macfarlane).

Season 2 picks up with Will engaged to Jenna (Rachel Rosenbloom), as he and Sylvia attempt to get their respective romantic partners into couples activities with each other. Will and Sylvia aren’t trying to wreck each other’s love lives, but they’re causing more problems than they’re solving.

The Morning Show is back for its fourth season, and there’s trouble ahead at UBA. Alexandra “Alex” Levy (Jennifer Aniston) and her former cohost, Bradley Jackson (Reese Witherspoon), are at odds again. And Bradley’s hiding a secret that could cause major problems for the network.

Marion Cotillard is joining the cast this season as Celine Dumont, a European executive who has a lot of sway over the direction of UBA. Alex also has to deal with a new emerging rivalry at the network, as well as her decision to go to her father, Martin Levy (Jeremy Irons), for help with a sensitive matter.

Game of Thrones veteran Jason Momoa co-created and stars in Chief of War, a new historical miniseries about the Hawaiian islands. Mamoa plays Kaʻiana, a warrior chief who is among the most formidable of his era.

In the late 19th century, Kamehameha I (Kaina Makua) was in a position to become the first king of the four kingdoms until Kaʻiana broke away from his command and rebelled against total control of the islands. Fierce and imposing, it’s the kind of role that Momoa excels at, and the Minecraft actor turns in one of his best performances to date in this epic series.

Chief of War is streaming on Apple TV.

The epic adaptation of Isaac Asimov‘s sci-fi novel series continues in the third season of Foundation. When the series began, Hari Seldon (Jared Harris) came up with a predictive model that forecast the downfall of the Galactic Empire and even greater catastrophes ahead if a Foundation wasn’t formed to preserve human knowledge. 

Season 3 jumps ahead in time as Gaal Dornick (Lou Llobell) carries on Seldon’s legacy amid ongoing conflicts with the empire. However, both the empire and the Foundation are threatened by The Mule (Pilou Asbæk), a warlord whose mental powers may allow him to conquer the known universe.

The Buccaneers is a period drama set in the late 19th century that focuses on Nan (Kristine Froseth) and Jinny St. George (Imogen Waterhouse), as well as their friends, Conchita Closson (Alisha Boe), Lizzy (Aubri Ibrag) and Mabel Elmsworth (Josie Totah). The women came to London to find suitable husbands, but they found romantic entanglements instead.

Season 2 finds Nan married to one man while in love with another, while Jinny attempts to escape an abusive relationship. There’s drama and heartbreak ahead as romantic feelings linger, and not everyone is going to get a happy ending.

The Buccaneers is streaming on Apple TV.

Where there’s smoke, there are a lot of fires in Apple TV+’s adaptation of the Firebug podcast. Since this is only a limited series, movie stars Jurnee Smollett and Taron Egerton headline Smoke as Detective Michelle Calderon and arson investigator Dave Gudsen, respectively. 

Michelle is trying not to crack under personal and professional pressure while two very different arsonists plague the city. Her new partner, Dave, is a former firefighter who is so frustrated by the turn of events that he uses his off-hours to write a novel about the investigation that casts himself as its hero. Real life blends with fiction as Dave and Michelle search for the two arsonists, but they may torch their personal lives along the way.

Smoke is streaming on Apple TV.

Owen Wilson seems invigorated by his leading role in Stick as Pryce Cahill, an ex-pro golfer whose best days are long behind him. Pryce is still a little in love with his ex-wife, Amber-Linn Sobeck (Judy Greer), but he doesn’t have many prospects until he meets Santi Wheeler (Peter Dager).

Santi is so physically gifted at golf that Pryce bets everything he has that he can lead the younger man to success on the pro tour. However, Santi proves to be very difficult to coach, and if Pryce wants to reclaim his former glory, then he’s going to have to be creative.

Stick is streaming on Apple TV.

The main character of the sci-fi comedy Murderbot may look suspiciously like the star of True Blood and The Northman, but don’t let a handsome face fool you into thinking that it’s human. Or that it’s even a “he” at all. Murderbot (Alexander Skarsgård) doesn’t particularly care for humans, but the android really loves binge-watching all of the streaming shows at an accelerated pace.

Protecting humans on a scientific mission is the boring part of Murderbot’s existence. Murderbot also has to worry about humans realizing that this cyborg is no longer some mindless automaton. Through a programming fluke, Murderbot is now a sentient being, and that’s a secret that needs to be kept at all costs.

Ray Driscoll (Brian Tyree Henry) and his best friend, Manny Carvalho (Wagner Moura), have a good thing going on Dope Thief. They pretend to be DEA agents and rip off unsuspecting dealers while walking away with untraceable cash and drugs. Unfortunately, the guys’ latest robbery went horribly off the rails and left a few bodies in their wake.

This might be the score of a lifetime, but someone has already identified them and threatened to go after everyone they love in retaliation for the heist. Meanwhile, the real DEA now has a line on Ray and Manny as well, and they’re both under intense pressure from their families that may test their brotherly love for each other before all is said and done.

Dope Thief is streaming on Apple TV.

The Afterparty adds some much-needed variety to the murder mystery genre by incorporating spoofs of every other genre imaginable. Each episode of this comedy series is told from a different character’s perspective, and therefore resembles a different style of filmmaking. Whether it’s a film noir, a Wes Anderson indie to action flick, each episode tells the same story, but from a different point of view.

In the first season, a pop star (Dave Franco) is found dead at his high school reunion’s afterparty. Detective Danner (the very funny yet vulnerable Tiffany Haddish) interviews all suspects to put the pieces together and identify the killer. Aniq (Veep‘s Sam Richardson) finds himself a prime suspect and seeks to prove his innocence and win the heart of his high school crush Zoe (Zoe Chao).

Season 2 manages to pull off placing several of the same characters in the middle of a new mystery surprisingly well. The casts of both seasons are stacked with comedy greats, and the murder reveals are always unexpected. The Afterparty will be a party you won’t want to leave.

Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, the writers behind Superbad, Pineapple Express and many more hysterical Hollywood blockbusters, are now taking on Hollywood itself. In this new series, Rogen plays Matt Remick, the newly appointed head of Continental Studios. Matt tries to balance his passion for making fantastic art with the need to make billions of dollars for the company. 

Rogen and Goldberg’s irreverent, no-holds-barred comedic style meets the glamour and excess of the entertainment industry in a show that’s as full of celebrity cameos as it is with F-bombs. Catherine O’Hara (Schitt’s Creek) plays Matt’s predecessor and mentor, while Kathryn Hahn (Agatha All Along) plays the studio’s blunt head of marketing.

In this darkly funny show, Adam Scott (Parks and Recreation) plays an employee at biotechnology corporation Lumon Industries. Scott’s character, and everyone else who works at Lumon, has undergone a medical procedure called “severance,” which separates one’s memories of life in the office from those of the outside world. 

As a result, most of the characters have two distinct personalities: the “innie,” who exists only in the office, and the “outie” who interacts with the rest of the world. This system is soon revealed to be darker and more complex than any Lumon employee could have expected.

Fans love Severance for its smart critique of corporate culture, the thrilling mysteries that drive the story, and the thought-provoking questions it raises about the nature of identity.

The five Garvey sisters, who lost their parents at a young age and were raised by eldest daughter Eva (Sharon Horgan), are as tight-knit a group as can be. But as they watch their sister Grace (Anne-Marie Duff) become more and more withdrawn under the controlling influence of her abusive husband John Paul (Claes Bang), they fear they may lose her completely. Desperate to save Grace, and each with their own reasons for despising John Paul, the Garvey sisters team up to murder their brother-in-law. 

Told in flashbacks, the dark comedy begins with John Paul’s funeral and slowly unravels the mystery of what actually killed him. At the same time, two insurance salesman brothers (Brian Gleeson and Daryl McCormack) hunt for signs of foul play in the hope that they won’t have to pay out John Paul’s life insurance policy. 

Bad Sisters is a witty and moving portrayal of what we’ll do to protect family. And the shocking twist at the end of the first season invites the viewer to take a second look at who around them might need protecting.

This one’s for the theater nerds. Keegan-Michael Key (Key & Peele) and Cecily Strong (Saturday Night Live) play two doctors, Josh and Melissa, who go on a couple’s camping trip to try to save their relationship. In a parody of the 1947 musical Brigadoon, they stumble upon a magical town called Schmigadoon, where life is a musical. 

The first season of the musical comedy is full of references to classic Broadway standards of the ‘40s and ‘50s like Carousel and Oklahoma!. Season 2 relocates the cast to the city of “Schmicago” and sends up ‘60s and ‘70s musicals like Sweeney Todd and Cabaret. (If one era of show tunes is more to your taste than the other, each season would work just fine as a stand-alone.)

Kristin Chenoweth (Wicked), Alan Cumming (Cabaret), Aaron Tveit (Les Miserables), and Ariana DeBose (West Side Story) are just a few of the stars that show off their impressive pipes in this hilarious show. In addition to being funny, the songs will absolutely get stuck in your head. “Corn Puddin’,” anyone?
