Owen Wilson

Owen Wilson is an actor, screenwriter and producer best known for starring in comedies such as Wedding Crashers, Zoolander and Starsky & Hutch, as well as for his collaborations with director Wes Anderson. Wilson was born in Dallas and raised alongside brothers Andrew Wilson and Luke Wilson, who also pursued acting careers. After attending the New Mexico Military Institute, Wilson enrolled at the University of Texas at Austin, where he met Anderson. The pair began writing together while in college, laying the foundation for Wilson’s Hollywood career.

Wilson launched his film career as cowriter and star of Bottle Rocket in 1996. Although the film was not a major box-office success, it established him as a rising talent and led to additional collaborations with Anderson. Wilson’s profile continued to grow through roles in comedies and action films including Permanent Midnight (1998) and The Minus Man (1999) before he became one of Hollywood’s most recognizable leading men in the early 2000s.

Wilson hit it big after starring in The Royal Tenenbaums (2001), for which he earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay. He went on to lead films such as Starsky & Hutch (2004), Wedding Crashers (2005), Marley & Me (2008), Midnight in Paris (2011) and Haunted Mansion (2023). He also voices Lightning McQueen in Pixar’s Cars franchise.

Wilson has previously been linked to Jade Duell, Caroline Lindqvist and Varunie Vongsvirates over the years, as well as stars including Kate Hudson and Sheryl Crow. He shares son Ford (born in 2011) with Duell, son Finn (born in 2014) with Lindvist, and daughter Lyla (born in 2018) with Vongsvirates.
