Minnesota native Chris Pratt was discovered by actor/director Rae Dawn Chong while he was working at restaurant in Maui, Hawaii; she cast him in her debut feature, Cursed 3, in 2000.
He got his big break on The WB drama Everwood, where he played jock Brighton Abbott from 2002 to 2006. The actor moved on to The O.C. before landing his memorable role as Andy Dwyer on the NBC sitcom Parks and Recreation, which aired from 2009 to 2015.
In 2014, Pratt’s image shifted from funny guy to action star with his role as superhero Peter Quill/Star Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy, a role he reprised in several sequels and other Marvel Studios’ movies. He also led the Jurassic World trilogy, which started in 2015, a continuation of the original Jurassic Park story. The actor’s other notable films include Moneyball, The Lego Movie, Zero Dark Thirty and The Five-Year Engagement.
Pratt previously dated Emily VanCamp, who played his sister on Everwood. He met Anna Faris on the 2007 set of Take Me Home Tonight; they married two years later in Bali. The spouses welcomed a son, Jack, in August 2012. The pair split in 2017 and the divorce was finalized in 2018. In 2019, Pratt married Katherine Schwarzenegger and the pair welcomed their first child together, Lyla Maria, in August 2020. Their second daughter, Eloise Christina, was born in May 2022.
