'Parks and Recreation' Cast: Where Are They Now?

Pawnee forever! The Parks and Recreation cast filled homes with laughs and love during its seven-season run on NBC, but since the show ended, fans have still been able to see their favorite faces from the group in a slew of high-profile projects. Amy Poehler (Leslie Knope), Nick Offerman (Ron Swanson), Aziz Ansari (Tom Haverford), Adam Scott (Ben Wyatt), Rashida Jones (Ann Perkins), Chris Pratt (Andy Dwyer), Aubrey Plaza (April Ludgate), Rob Lowe (Chris Traeger), Retta (Donna Meagle) and Jim O’Heir (Jerry Gergich) starred on the hit sitcom. The series, which aired 125 episodes, premiered in April 2009 and concluded in February 2015. The show and its cast earned Emmy, Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Awards nominations. Poehler, for her part, won the Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Comedy or Musical in 2014. The Saturday Night Live alum revealed during a Winter TCA Press Tour panel in January 2015 what she would miss most about her job on Parks and Recreation. “I’m going to miss hearing what’s going to happen to Leslie next year,” she said at the time. [jwplayer yFVyB76G-zhNYySv2] However, Poehler and her Pawnee pals stayed in touch after the show ended, reuniting for Galentine’s Day and hashing out revival ideas. “I’ll speak for everybody and say we would all do it,” the Wine Country actress shared during a May 2018 appearance with Offerman on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “I think we’d all do it someday. It would be amazing.” The Devs star had one condition, though. “Yeah, we just had a fitting earlier,” he joked at the time. “We said that if Beyoncé will play the mayor, we’ll bring the show back.” Despite his demands, the cast finally came together for a special in April 2020 to benefit Feeding America amid the coronavirus pandemic. “I sent out this email and the responses are so quick and so instant and so instantly positive. It just made me so happy. It was very much in keeping with the spirit of the show when we were making it,” cocreator Mike Schur told reporters in April 2020. “It was kind of astonishing that — I mean, forget about how famous they are, getting any group of 10 people to respond to you over an email in 45 minutes feels like an accomplishment. So it really was lovely and like I said, it was very much in the spirit of the way that we used to make the show. Amy Poehler

The actress directed and starred in Wine Country and Moxie, reunited with Tina Fey for Sisters and reprised her Wet Hot American Summer role in two revival seasons. She and Offerman have also hosted the crafting competition series Making It since 2018. She and Fey hosted the Golden Globes in 2021. Poehler starred on Duncanville from 2020 to 2022.

Poehler shares sons Archie and Abel with ex-husband Will Arnett.

Nick Offerman

In addition to working with Poehler on Making It, the actor starred on Fargo, Bad Times at the El Royale, Good Omens and Devs. He received critical praise in 2023 for his one-episode stint as Bill on HBO's The Last of Us.

Offerman and wife Megan Mullally released their book, The Greatest Love Story Ever Told: An Oral History, in October 2018. He has been married to Mullally since 2003.

Rashida Jones

Jones led the comedy Angie Tribeca from 2016 to 2018. She also appeared on Black-ish and #BlackAF. In 2020, she starred alongside Bill Murray in Sofia Coppola’s father-daughter comedy On the Rocks and reunited with Poehler on the animated series Duncanville. 

Us Weekly broke the news in September 2018 that the actress secretly welcomed her first child, son Isaiah, with partner Ezra Koenig months earlier.

Aziz Ansari

The comedian cocreated and stars on the Emmy-winning series Master of None. He took a step back from the spotlight after he was accused of sexual misconduct in January 2018 during the #MeToo movement, though the allegations against him called into question what constituted harassment. In July 2019, he returned to the screen with his Netflix comedy special Right Now, in which he spoke about the allegations.

He tied the knot with forensic data scientist Serena Skov Campbell in June 2022.

Chris Pratt

Franchise king! Pratt went on to play Peter Quill in the Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers films. He portrayed the leading man in the Jurassic World movies and voiced the iconic video game character Mario in 2023's The Super Mario Bros. Movie.

The actor wed Katherine Schwarzenegger in June 2019 after his August 2017 split from Anna Faris, with whom he shares son Jack. The couple welcomed their first daughter, Lyla, in 2020. The duo announced in December 2021 that they were expecting their second child. They welcomed daughter Eloise in May 2022.

Adam Scott

Scott took a turn for the dramatic on Big Little Lies, but he stayed true to his comedy roots on The Good Place, Ghosted and Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later. He also scored multiple nominations — including an Emmy nod for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series — for his role as Mark on the HBO series Severance in 2022.

The actor shares son Graham and daughter Frankie with wife Naomi Sablan.

Aubrey Plaza

Plaza had roles in Dirty Grandpa, Castle, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, Ingrid Goes West, Criminal Minds, Legion, Drunk History and Happiest Season. She starred as Harper on season 2 of HBO's The White Lotus, which took home the 2023 Golden Globe for Best Limited Series, Anthology Series or Television Motion Picture.

The actress revealed in May 2021 that she is married to Jeff Baena.

Rob Lowe

Lowe starred on The Grinder and Code Black before taking on the leading role on 9-1-1: Lone Star. He later went on to star alongside his son John in the 2023 Netflix series Unstable.

The West Wing alum also shares son Matthew with wife Sheryl Berkoff.

Retta

The actress moved on to Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce and Good Girls before appearing in the 2023 film 80 For Brady. She hosts the TV series Ugliest House in America.

Jim O’Heir

O’Heir continues to pop up on sitcoms, from Veep to Brooklyn Nine-Nine to Bless This Mess. He also appeared as Santa Claus in two 2022 projects: the Disney+ series The Santa Clauses and the miniseries Christmas Always Finds Its Way.
