Amy Poehler

The former Saturday Night Live alumna was born September 16, 1971 in Burlington, Mass.
Poehler’s comedic career began like most SNL members at Chicago’s Second City improv theatre. There she studied improv alongside future SNL cast member Tina Fey.
In 1996, Poehler joined the Upright Citizens Brigade, a New York City-based improv group formed by fellow Second City students. The group later got its own TV show on Comedy Central from 1998 to 2000. After the show was canceled, Poehler joined the cast of SNL during the 2001-2002 season.
In addition to appearing on SNL, the comedienne has also starred in popular films Baby Mama and Mean Girls, both alongside pal Tina Fey. In 2008, Poehler left SNL after giving birth to her son, Archie. The comedian welcomed her and husband Will Arnett’s second child, a son, Abel, in August 2010.
She began starring in Parks and Recreation in 2009 and hosted the Golden Globes three years in a row.
