Will Arnett

Will Arnett (born William Emerson Arnett) is a Canadian American actor, comedian and producer best known for his roles in Arrested Development and BoJack Horseman. Arnett was born in Toronto, Canada, where he was raised alongside his three siblings. He developed an interest in acting as a teenager and began taking classes at Tarragon Theatre. He went on to enroll at Concordia University in Montreal but left after one semester to pursue an acting career.

Arnett moved to New York to study acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in the early ’90s. He spent years landing small television and film roles before breaking out as Gob Bluth on Arrested Development in 2003. The critically acclaimed comedy made him a fan favorite and launched his career in both live-action and voice acting. He later earned an Emmy nomination for his recurring role on 30 Rock and became known for his distinctive deep voice and comedic timing.

Arnett went on to star in Running Wilde, Flaked and Murderville, while also appearing in films including Blades of Glory (2007), Jonah Hex (2010) and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows (2016). He has also done extensive voice work for projects such as The Lego Movie (2014), Despicable Me (2010), BoJack Horseman and Mulligan. He has received seven Primetime Emmy Award nominations throughout his career, including multiple nominations for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his role on 30 Rock.

Arnett was briefly married to Penelope Ann Miller from 1994 to 1995. He later married Amy Poehler in 2003 and they welcomed two sons, Archie (born in 2008) and Abel (born in 2010), before separating in 2012. Their divorce was finalized in 2016. Arnett later welcomed son Alexander (born in 2020) with Alessandra Brawn. Following their 2025 split, he later moved on with Caroyln Murphy. The two broke things off in April 2026.
