Juliette Lewis

Juliette Lewis is an actress and singer best known for her Oscar-nominated performance in Cape Fear, her starring role in Natural Born Killers and her work in film, television and music spanning more than four decades. Juliette is the daughter of late actor Geoffrey Lewis and graphic designer Glenis Batley. She began acting as a teenager and became legally emancipated at age 14 in order to bypass child labor laws and work fulltime as an actress.

Juliette launched her career with television roles on shows including I Married Dora before breaking out in 1991 with Martin Scorsese’s Cape Fear. Her performance as Danielle Bowden earned her Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations for Best Supporting Actress. She went on to become one of Hollywood’s most recognizable young stars of the ’90s with performances in What’s Eating Gilbert Grape (1993), Natural Born Killers (1994), From Dusk Till Dawn (1996) and The Other Sister (1999).

The actress ventured into music in the 2000s, fronting the rock band Juliette and the Licks before launching a solo music career.

Juliette has continued to balance acting and music with notable roles in projects including Wayward Pines, Secrets and Lies, Camping and Welcome to Chippendales. From 2021 to 2023, she appeared in the Showtime thriller Yellowjackets as Natalie. In 2026, she made her Broadway debut in the revival of The Rocky Horror Show.

The actress dated Brad Pitt from 1989 to 1993 before marrying professional skateboarder Steve Berra in 1999. The couple divorced in 2003.
