
Lupita Nyong'o

Born in Mexico but raised in Kenya, this Academy Award winning actress made her acting debut in 2008 when she starred in the short film East River. She got her undergraduate degree at Hampshire College, and later completed her master’s degree in acting at the Yale School of Drama.
Nyong’o’s first feature film was 12 Years a Slave in 2013, which won Best Motion Picture at the 2014 Academy Awards. For her performance as Louisiana slave Patsey, the newcomer took home a SAG Award and Oscar for Best Supporting Actress – and became an instant red carpet star for her fashionable looks during the 2014 awards season.
After stunning everyone with her beauty and grace during the 2014 red carpet season, Nyong’o was named “Woman of the Year” by Glamour.
