Anne Hathaway

Anne Hathaway is an Academy Award–winning actress known for her roles in blockbuster films and critically acclaimed dramas. Hathaway was born in Brooklyn, New York, and raised in New Jersey, where she developed an early interest in performing and participated in a number of student productions throughout her childhood. She enrolled in Vassar College, studying English, before transferring to New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study, where she focused on acting.

Hathaway got her start on the television series Get Real from 1999 to 2000 before landing her breakout role in The Princess Diaries in 2001. The Disney hit established her as a rising star and became one of her most well-known roles, leading to appearances in films like Ella Enchanted (2004) and Brokeback Mountain (2005). In 2006, she shared the screen with Meryl Streep and Stanley Tucci in The Devil Wears Prada. She continued to expand her presence in film with performances in movies like Becoming Jane (2007), Alice in Wonderland (2010), One Day (2011), The Dark Knight Rises (2012) and Les Misérables (2012). Her role in Les Misérables earned her the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.

She went on to star in major films including Interstellar (2014) and Ocean’s 8 (2018). Her filmography spans both commercial hits and independent films, making her a consistent presence in Hollywood.
Hathaway will reprise her role as Andy Sachs in The Devil Wears Prada 2, set to release in 2026.

Hathaway tied the knot with Adam Shulman in 2012. The couple share two sons: Jonathan (born in 2016) and Jack (born in 2019).
